Blurbs

About me:

I work professionally as an embedded software engineer but my passion is music, photography and the outdoors. I am a concert junkie and enjoy a cross-section of music in the form of jazz, rock, blues, electronic and so-called world music. I also have a great appreciation for the preservation of the environment and this planet.

Who I'd like to meet:

People who enjoy Progressive Rock, World Music, Jazz and genres of great music.

  • Movies

Foreign-language subtitled movies are my favourite.
  • Television

I love television documentaries, especially those produced by the BBC. I have a collection of music DVDs which I enjoy watching. I also love watching some quality footie occasionally, as well as the South African rugby & cricket teams.
  • Books

Autobiographies generally. I have recently read Moya Brennan's autobiography and a biography about the life of John Martyn. Just read The Cellist Of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway. I'm currently reading House Of Stone by Christina Lamb, a true story about the civil war in Zimbabwe, from both sides of the divide.
  • Heroes

Me - other than that, probably Jon Anderson, Nelson Mandela and my late Mom and Dad.

Hi Peter and thank you very much for your kind words. I'm honoured. I guess you're right, the music of HFMC is a blend of all the music, that has inspired me over the years. In my ears you can hear echoes of prog from the seventies, hardrock and something that's just me I guess? If you mix these ingredients and at the same time try to have a fresh approach, curious attitude towards sounds and so on, I think you can get an idea of what we're striving for. If we'll succeed, that's another story? But I have a good feeling. In fact, just as good as the feeling we have within the band. I don't feel to good about the weather though. We've had polar winds during the weekend with both snow and rain, I don't think it can get much worse actually but today it's a little bit warmer, still with grey skies. Anyway, have a nice trip to Holland (TFK has played that venue a couple of times) and enjoy the show. Have a great week. Take care. Hasse (HFMC, The Flower Kings)

    Hi Peter,

Thank you very much for the picture and for your great comment on the TRIBUTE TO FREEDOM. It is a pity that we could not talk each other in August.

Hope to meet you one day.

    Best wishes

    Peter
