Well it all started with a team - Project alpha - We wanted to get sponsored by the Army, but in order to do that, we had to basically 'give' our cars to the army... Since all our team members at the time were soldiers, and we drive our STi's, Evo's, 350z's every single day... just giving our cars to the army wasnt a pleasant thought....
So, months after our sponsor attempts with the US Army went under, we started arranging events around a tour that would encompass the entire west coast...
With Myself and friends starting a tour for pure performance enthusiests, we concluded that the first year would be a majority of Subaru's and Evo's, not because we disliked other types of imports, but it was the quickest way to get people together since it was all we knew..
We had little time to prepare, so we made basic arrangements with auto performance based shops and businesses along Interstate 5, and plotted checkpoints along the length of I-5 south, and the plotted checkpoints along HW 101 for our trip back up north.
We made it to more shops than expected, and ended up spending 2 days at Laguna Seca, interviewing Skip Barber instructors while being raced around the track in their SRT-4's... The best part about the entire tour was that we had a professional film dude(steve arcenio) packing high-quality DV cameras that he used to film the entire tour...
So now, 7 months after this year's tour, the West Coast Import Tour DVD is going to be available for release. The quality of the editting is phenomenal... I'm a huge film critic, and even I had my doubts of how the DVD would turn out... BUT, it turned out perfect.
So in August of 2007, we'll be at it again...
This year, we'll allow more participants, more camera men, more staff members, and an event schedule with numerous sanctioned racing events along the west coast that will be unrivaled...
There will be sponsor slots - each with their own advertisement values. The advertisement aspect of being a sponsor of the tour will be seen through the high-quality edited video that is accurate and useful for future reference and commercial use.
The tour is for a purpose. The purpose is to promote education of the motorsports world, emphasize balance and purpose for import modifications, and help promote ever-popular events that need an extra push with the help of digital video...
Our interests are for the overall benefit of the Import Community and to create a series of events that will unite the import auto community...

In April of 2006, the first West Coast Import Tour kicked off in style.
It all started in Seattle, Washington when a group of friends started on a journey that would take them away from their daily lives, and put them on a path that would alter the way they looked at Import Tuner performance.
Each day of the WCIT provided its own unique challenges. Continuing the tour through the elements and the harsh weather, the tour pushed through the perpetual rain cloud that hung over their heads for the first 3 days of the tour.
Through Portland, Oregon, and Northern California; stopping at scenic vista's such as Shasta Lake and the beautiful Redwoods; The tour was a chance to push tuned import cars to the limit, as well as completely forget about the daily grind. Even with the Rain, the tour pushed on, hoping that one day the sun would appear if even for a moment.
On the fourth day, the sun miraculously appeared... Just in time for a one on one track run with the instructors at Skip Barber Racing School. The expectations were high as we were strapped into race cars, and thrown down the corkscrew at one of the most well known race track on the West Coast.
With the exhileration of getting a first person perspective of the best racing school in the U.S. we headed back up north for the last half of the trip.
The tour took the leisurely route back up north to Washington along the twisty and curvy HW 101 in a drive speed normally called a 'spirited drive' would definately be an understatement for the Tour participants...
With no accidents, no breakdowns, and zero traffic tickets from any member of the tour, it stood as a benchmark for future Import Tour's hosted by Project Alpha.
You can see for yourself the memories and bonds that were made along the tour. Purchase a copy of the DVD that shows the entire tour in its full glory... professionally edited, and professionally produced..

The west coast import tour encompasses performance and sanctioned event racing, while making memories for all participants who attend the tour.
From Seattle to Los Angeles, the tour travels along the freeway's of the west coast, while seeking out the hidden backroads for an occasional detour for a spirited drive.
Participants on the tour will find out first hand that the events we attend are based with performance in mind. Meeting new people, and having a fun time is the goal of each event we attend. The memories each person will have when the tour is complete will stay with them for their entire lives.
During the duration of the tour, we record every minute that passes by. In order to make a high quality film, much is required in the requirements of the people and cars we allow on the tour. Please see the requirements for participating on the tour and feel free to contact the addresses provided on the contact page.

Who I'd like to meet: I would like to meet anyone that is interested in getting the most out of their cars for the lowest dollar spent. I would also like to meet the people out there that love racing their cars at sanctioned events, as well as hanging out with friends with the common love for the import scene.
