About me:
Hello, and welcome to Project: Low Budget.

My name is Alan Eosso and not only am I a former United States Marine, but I was also in NYC on September 11th, 2001.

I now live in South Florida and came up with the idea for this project when someone offered up a worn out Mustang for free.

What I ended up with is what appears to be a very worthwhile effort.

Here's the basic idea:

Take a tired 1991 Mustang LX 5.0 and through charitable donations of parts, time and effort to see if we can come up with a complete car that looks nice and drives well. The REAL trick is doing all of this for $1000 in total investment, to INCLUDE THE PRICE OF THE CAR.

I know, I know... right now you're saying "Alan, that sounds too easy" and I think you're right. So, to make this a little more interesting we're going to set a 1/4 mile ET goal of 12.50's or better.

We're also trying to avoid corporate sponsorship. Sure, a few people who have jobs have donated but this isn't about how a company can build a car or how much we can spend to go fast. No, this is about Mustang enthusiasts pulling together in an effort to do something special.

Once the car is complete (and we've reached our goal) we'll take the car and pitch it to various Mustang publications. I'm talking about publications such as Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, 5.0 and Super Fords and Modified Mustangs magazines to see if we can get them to write a story on the car.

Once it's published we'll auction off the car and donate the proceeds to the Twin Towers Orphan Fund.

You can visit their website here: TWIN TOWERS ORPHANS FUND

So far we've made some significant progress. I can'twait to see how it turns out.

Please take a second to check out the progress at Ground Zero. The photos are awesome!

Who I'd like to meet:

So far I've had three cars and a bunch of parts.

  • 88 LX 4 cylinder (parted and scrapped)
  • 91 GT parts donor(in my driveway)
  • 91 LX (in my father-in-laws garage)

We've also got the following parts:

  • Complete motor and transmission
  • Complete wire harness and computer
  • GT40 Heads
  • 93 Cobra upper and lower intake
  • FMS "E" cam
  • Hooker "Shorty" headers
  • 2 AOD transmissions - one with a TransGo shift kit
  • Lakewood rear drag shocks
  • Adjustible upper control arms
  • Tubular Steeda lower control arms
  • 90% complete grey interior with new black carpet.
  • 2 sets of seats - one grey and one black
  • AutoMeter Transmission temperature gauge
  • MAC Cold Air Intake
  • 6 pony wheels - 2 silver and 4 chrome (rough though)
  • 3 Chrome 96 Gt wheels welded and redrilled for 4 lug
  • Accel Coil

I'm sure I'm missing stuff.

With all that stuff sitting on the ground I've come out of pocket a whopping $685 dollars. On top of that I have a committement for an additional $300 in parts sold off the donor car. (I already sold $200 worth in the front/back bumpers and foglight bracket) That's not considering the other parts I can sell off like doors, glass, extra rears, etc...

Thanks for everything guys. If it wasn't for everyone who's donated parts and time there wouldn't BE a project.

Be well,
Alan

I think I've got some underdrive pullies for you. I'm not sure if they are 5.0 or 4.6 ones but they're yours if you want them. I've also got silly stuff like oil caps, gas caps and even a center console from an 86.

I do have some speed-bleeders that are brand new you can have too.
