Projecto Kamfulado is a band formed in the current year 2007. This band is composed by 4 official members, Nandele aka N2k (Drummer, Co-producer and Web designer), Kay-g aka Dois Canos(Lead Vocalist/Writer/MC), Valter (Bass Guitar), Dito aka Dee Jonez (Keyboard, Accoustic Guitar, Producer, Manager & add- Vocalist). The band came about when the two founders of the group, Nandele and Dito decided to set up a real hip hop band after a show performed at Africa Bar 2006 with other post members. Initially the band was on the go for imitating other rap songs and playing them live, eventually after this initial group dissolved the two founders set on a quest to launch the authenticity of band - to perform hip hop live. Thus when enligthened by the talent of the two
additional members, Kay G & Valter, the Projecto Kamfulado came into existance.Funny enought the origin of the name has its dubious and ludricous concept. See, Zaza, a local show promotor in the city of Maputo - Mozambique, needed a band to perform at one of his gigs. He was looking for a band that could imitate songs of international bands. So there we were, up for it. At that time only Nandele and Dito were present plus the former members, Luisinho, Michel Pinto and Manucho, that had to abandon the band due to a heavy routined schedule. Now Zaza, came up with the name Kamfulados....odd enough, we were all puzzled. That name was not in our wildest dream a proposition to even be considered. Since he had already posted the name on the flyer we had no other choice but to hold to it. So after some briefings and meetings the band came up with smothering attempt by naming it - Projecto Kamfulado.Currently the band is paving the way for a trail of events still in the first semester of this year. We appreciate your support for the movement, an innovative, fresh and great initiative by these young cats, as they embarg on a journey to stamp the title of the first hip hop band ever to exist in Mozambique.Much loveDee Jonez
