ProtoAvis is a rock band that hails from New Jersey, started by chief singer/songwriter J.B. Back in 2004, J.B. had a major creative spree, wrote over 2 dozen songs, and recorded them himself in his garage playing all instruments. The resulting demo was over 24 songs, which he named "ProtoAvis", which was a band name he had in mind for a long time. J.B. then recruited a drummer and bassist to play in his new band. They both learned all of the drum and bass parts off the original demo. They played a good amount of shows, and professionally recorded 13 of the best songs that were on J.B.’s original demo, which ultimately became the band’s first effort, Songs from the Storage Room. Creative differences led to J.B. parting ways with both of them. So in an effort to preserve his band, J.B. sought out bassists and drummers who expressed interest and passion in the music. Jake Hemmerlin contacted J.B. contacted J.B. regarding the drumming slot, and joined as the perminant drummer. Daryl Paino joined the band as the bassist. The band plans on re-recording the entire debut album with the new line-up, adding 3 new songs in the track list, and eliminating the 3 weakest songs from the current.
