I have no ever-lovin' idea. If anyone wants to be nice and let me know what genre music it is...other than crap thank you, I would be very appreciative.
Oh and while we're at it for everyone who's been kind enough to make me their friend...
THANK YOU!!!
My name is Joe Mieczkowski and for as long as I can remember I've always wanted to be involved with music.
I got my first guitar just before first grade. I won it in the school's candy sale. It was a hideous acoustic with action so high you could barely press the strings down. I couldn't really figure that out then, so it just kind of sat around.
I got my first electric guitar in high school and started taking lessons. I studied with Fraser Agresta from D'addario Music in Stratford, CT for several years. I played with a few of the guys that now make up the band Simple Jim. I decided that I wanted to learn how to make records, so I went to music school with a focus on sound recording.
After a less that illustrious start at the University of Lowell in Massachusetts, I enrolled at the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. There, I double majored in both Music & Sound Recording as well as Music Industry. While there, I produced and engineered a four song EP for the band The Great Upsetters.
After graduating I went on to play bass with Myrage (Fraser Agresta, Maureen Agresta & Mike Kosa) and My Old Band (George Hanlon, Kyle Crispino & Andre Green) along with jamming with several other great players. I also worked on other recordings by members of Myrage and 9 East.
I moved to Florida for three years where I discovered not only Sonic Foundry's ACID...but my wife, Gina. We moved back to Connecticut after three years and now live in West Haven.
I started up my own website call On the pod.net in December of 2005. It's mostly music reviews by real people, well person...namely, me. I've been writing all the reviews you can find there. The web site can be found at www.onthepod.net.
Thanks to a mutual friend, I was asked by the owner of Sogno, Boutique of Dreams in New Haven, CT to develop music for their 2006 fashion show. That request led to me writing The Sogno Suite, clips of which you can hear on this site. I'm now working on releasing the CD independently and should be for sale here soon.
***UPDATE***
You can now pick up The Sogno Suite at CD Baby and on iTunes!!!
