Luis Campos, producer and long time dance music veteran DJ was born and raised in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil Starting his professional career in 1985 at the age of 13. DJ Luis has been developing and improving his DJ skills in many different styles including Trance, Techno, House and Electro. He was resident in some of the most respected clubs in Brazil such as, Limelight, Lov-e and Victoria Pub among others. His excellent mixing and great knowledge of music have taken him to the best clubs in Brazil, Japan, Italy and USA. He has also participating in big outdoors events in Brazil such as love parade (200.000 people), the release of the cd AMP (35.000 people) and innumerous Trance festivals around the country. DJ Luis was part of the band Influx since its foundation in 1996, in which he collaborated with until 1999 when he decided to live in NYC to continue his solo DJ career. Arriving in NYC after building a respected reputation in Brazil, DJ Luis Campos quickly found his way in the best nights of the big Apple such as Crobar, Club Spirit, Le Souk, Cielo, Club Exit, Avalon, World, The Fat Black Pussy Cat (Psycheground), Life, the legendary Pacha NYC and Orb Festival. currently he is the resident of Psycheground (Sullivan Room) and Alladin Project parties. In NYC since2000, DJ Luis and collaborators founded the Dreamcatcher studios party organization and Psycheground, the oldest Psytrance weekly party of the country and one of the most respected names in progressive and Trance in NYC. Psycheground takes place at the amazing Sullivan Room and it is now on its 100th edition. Intending to expand, DJ Luis has also performed in Boston, Connecticut and Philadelphia (TDC Festival, Gaian Mind festival), but the journey will not stop there. Besides DJ’ing, production has always been part of the work. DJ Luis Campos is now working on a house music project named Warpdrive. The project gathers an enormous amount of ideas and professionalism creating a collection of the finest house tracks. The first single (Come on Baby) has already been released on Beatport in 2007 and there is many more to come. Intent to the new technology, the production is being done with Emagic Logic Audio, Fruity Loops, Reason and Ableton Live. For performances DJ Luis incorporates the use of Serato Scratch and Traktor allowing him to play with vinyl like feeling but keeping his music in the digital form. His popularity as a DJ is highlighted by the wide array of sub genders of music he has experimented with during the past twenty years. Creativity, excitement and enthusiasm seem to have no limits when it comes to DJ’ing and producing. ..
