Brought together by a love of gothic literature and Metal PYTHIA are a group of classical and Metal inspired musicians who believe that music is a lifestyle that should be lived only by the brave and true of heart. Lead singer Emily Alice Ovenden is perhaps better know as a member of the No.1 selling classical act the Mediaeval Baebes and Classic FM favourite Celtic Legend. Drummer Marc Dyos and Guitarist Ross White from one of UK’s foremost Thrash Metal projects ‘Descent’ make up the composition team and with classical pianist Richard Holland, Tim Neale on Lead Guitar and Andrew Corfield on bass, PYTHIA are set to steal the Gothic Power Metal crown in 2009.
The name PYTHIA is taken from ancient Greece. The Pythia was the priestess at Apollo's oracle in Delphi who operated as a vehicle for Apollo's will. This is a fitting title as Ovenden’s lyrics explore the darker side of life, love and passion, dancing between this world and a world filled with gods, goblins and ghosts.

Hey ^^ thanks for finding me and for the friendship. =) Nice to have you as a friend. I love your music. Very beautiful voice and tunes. I can't stop listening to it. =) Best wishes and greetings from germany.
Thank for the add ! I hear a good music with a very good quality ! It sometimes reminds me some Italian bands.
About us, in a quite different style, we've uploaded a new song from our next EP, called 'Bleak opium'. We try to mixe together all our influences in a kind of avantgarde music that try to melt wealthy ambiances, powerful guitars, researched harmonies, catchy rythms and deep atmospheres. It will be nice to give us your opinion about it ;)
Put together the first music video for one of the songs, that being for the song "Eel Marsh House", which is based on the movie "The Woman In Black". Wasn't sure to name it that instead of 'Eel Marsh..." ...Eel Marsh House being where the woman in black 'lived', and now haunts it. Though, she seems to haunt the general area of the village as well as the House. If anyone catches her gaze, looks into her eyes....a child will die, usually from the family of the person unfortunate to look at her. As you see what happens to the story's main character at the end.
Hope you like it, that's about all for now, Cheers! Rob
