The collapse of the conventional pop song finally removes the economic basis for a mode of songwriting whose attitude and practice we reject. With it, the new pop song has a chance to come to life. Pop songs by young guitarists, bassists, drummers, and keyboardists have in recent years received the recognition of international critics. These works and these successes show that the future of the new pop song lies in the hands of those who have proven that they speak a new musical language. We declare our intention to create the new pop song. This new pop song needs new freedoms. Freedom from the conventions of the established industry. Freedom from the outside influence of commercial partners. We have concrete intellectual, formal, and musical conceptions about the production of the new pop song. We are as a collective prepared to take experimental risks. The old pop song is dead. We believe in the new one.
Hi David, We definitely want to book a show with you guys soon but we also have members out of town in mongolia and athens for the rest of the summer. How does september or october look for you? We probably can get a choice of dates at the atlantic. There is the possibility of doing a new night with live sets+ DJ Cameron in the fall (very tentative) in which case it would be 2 bands. But if not, are you familiar with Call Us Your Mascot? I think they would be a super fun fit for a 3 band set. Anyways, let me know a range of dates you think you could do, and we will get in contact with Tony and book it.
Well i totally loved you guys! What a blast playing with you all! We must do it again! I have some video of you guys that i will put on the podcast soon! Take care :)
Awesome first show gang!! Have Hannah or someone call me (Ryan Moody), so I can hook you up with Glory Days Booking and get you a show at 1982, Atlantic, Market Street and the like. Thanks for such good music!
