Quruli was formed in 1996. In November 1997, they released the first demo EP “Moshi Moshi” from Bad News Records. . On May in 1998, they released a mini album called “Fandelier” and a debut EP “Tokyo” from Speedstar Records on October. They have released 20 EPs and 7 albums so far. Now that they are the most weighty band in Japan’s Rock scene. On March in 2003, they played at SXSW for the first time and went on a long domestic tour. At this time they played at 45 halls and clubs including Nippon Budokan, where is one of the most honorable place for Japanese musicians. In 2005, Kishida and Sato formed SINGER SONGER with a female vocalist “Cocco” as their side project. Quruli released the best album “The Best Of Quruli / TOWER OF MUSIC LOVER” in 2006. It debuted at the third ranking on Oricon chart.
In 2007, Quruli stayed in Vienna, Austria for recording, which was first time for musicians in Japan. The 18th EP “JUBILEE came out on May and 7th full-album “Tanz Walzer” on June 27th. This album attempted the fusion of classical and rock music. On September 23rd, they hosted “Kyoto Music Festival In Umekoji Koen” the first outdoor music festival ever in Kyoto, and it ended in a triumph. This summer, they went on a tour called "Dera Zeppin Tour" and performed at many music festivals. On September 3, they released their 20th single "Sayonara Regret" and they hoseted an outdoor music festival "Kyoto Music Expo" on September 6.
