He's finally arrived.
With the title track of "Heyy Babyy" rocking music charts all over the planet, Raman Mahadevan has finally made his entry into Bollywood.
Its no sad saga of rags to riches yet it was a struggle of sorts.Leaving behind a comfy job and a plush position, Raman decided to stick to what he does best - Music. Raman started learning carnatic music at the age of 9yrs under his gurus Smt.Prasanna Warrier and under Smt.Girija Seshu at a later stage. He also had a brief stint of learning the tabla under his guru Shri.Palash Bordoloi. He had his brush with the live stage show circuit in Mumbai since 2000 and later he started singing for AD-Jingles. He started performing with Shankar Mahadevan and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy since 2002/03 for live shows. It was Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy who got Raman to sing the title track of "Heyy Babyy".

Check out for his debut solo album 'Ramanasia' which has just hit the internet space.
The album has been composed and sung by Raman himself and is a blend of different genres. The album does not follow one particular genre as such. There's something for everyone as he puts. There's the rock-pop-blues infused 'Teri Talash Hai'and for those into ragas and fusion there's 'Badra'and 'Aasman se koi'.'Gunche'is a soothing pop ballad with some excellent song-writing.Then there is a Punjabi folk based track'Dard Dilande' which is an elegy on the bomb blasts n terrorism.'Mat Todo Mujhe'is an experimental electronica track reflecting the mind of the youth today. And finally there are 2 dance numbers, 'O meri jaan', a bouncy track with a hint of jazz n swing and 'Tu jo ik pal dede', which is a blend of dhols n afro pop.
