The band has seldom before faced such exciting times. They have released a long awaited christmas album, with some songs never previously recorded. The sound is softer than on the Morning Star-album, but still very much Ranarim. That is: traditional at core but modern and original in expression.
In December the band is going on a christmas tour in Sweden with the new album.
Ranarim is also working on songs for their next album. One of their aims this time is to reach a broader audience and so the sound will be a bit different from earlier albums. But not to fear, every Ranarim listener will feel at home. Maybe just even more excited and energized.
But despite all talk about new albums, Ranarim is first and foremost a live band. For almost a decade they have been smashing hits at festivals and folk music clubs around the world. Their energetic stage performances include both tender and powerful music and a tight sound that sweeps the audience off its feet.
And at this time, they evidently have alot going. Much of which cannot be revealed now.
So, for 2010, prepare to be surprised by Ranarim.
