UPDATE: It was officially announced on Saturday July 25th that Matt Sernaker and Erin Hatch (with the help of Matt Mendoza and Kroze Kresky) won ABC's contest to write the theme song for LOST! Matt Mendoza recorded and performed the final version of song that we wrote. We could not have done this with out him. Best friends from San Diego, Matt Sernaker and Erin Hatch formed the comedy band Random Gibberish in 2003. The two combined forces utilizing Matt's knowledge and experience from performing standup comedy and his passion for piano with Erin's ability to rhyme words to create hilarious (yet dorky) songs for the amusement of others. Their first demo "Songs Loosely Based on True Stories" containing classics like "Aquaman" and "Erin's New Chair" sold a lot of copies. People liked it. So they made more songs. People liked those too. Things were looking good for Matt and Erin.
In 2004 they added long time friend Tony Rhea (I dont know if added really is the right word....more like Tony was there and started making comments while we were writing songs).
Later in 2004 the band's sucess increased when "Stuck in a Canyon" and "Return to the Canyon" (songs Matt wrote as a tribute to Redvsblue.com) became internet hits.
