Nach der Bandgründung 2001 und zwei Demos („Solar Force“ in 2002 und „Unveiling The Grotesque“ in 2004) erschien im Jahre 2006 das Labeldebüt „Scales of Judgement“ über das süddeutsche Label Metal Heaven. Das von Tommy Newton (u.a. HELLOWEEN, UFO, ARK, CONCEPTION) produzierte Album fand in der nationalen als auch internationalen Presse durchweg sehr gute Resonanzen. Ein Song der CD („Flame of War“) wird in umarrangierter Version vom DEL Eishockey Verein, Krefeld Pinguine (KEV), seit der Saison 2007/2008 als offizielle Vereinshymne verwendet. Die Maxi-CD mit dem Titel „Lebende Legende“ verkaufte sich über den KEV-Fanshop bisher ca. 2000-mal.
Nicht zuletzt durch die zahlreichen lebendigen und energiegeladenen Live-Auftritte (u.a. mit WASP, DORO, THRESHOLD, GRAVE DIGGER, RAGE), konnte sich Ra’s Dawn eine recht große Fangemeinde erspielen.
Im April 2008 begab sich die Band in die derzeit sehr angesagten Kohlekeller Studios von Kristian Kohlmannslehner (u.a. SIEGES EVEN, CREMATORY, BENIGHTED, SIX REASONS TO KILL) um das neue Album „At The Gates Of Dawn“ aufzunehmen. Herausgekommen ist ein stellenweise progressives und sehr abwechslungsreiches Metalalbum mit modernem Charakter. Eine dynamische, kraftvolle Platte mit fetten Riffs und geilen Hooklines.
Mit Twilight-Distribution fand die Band einen geeigneten Partner, um die Scheibe unters Volk zu bringen.

Besides playing plenty of live shows Ra..s Dawn also concentrated on writing new material for the upcoming album „At The Gates Of Dawn“ – new songs with a distinct progress in both composition and lyrical variety, but never leaving the classical paths of Heavy Metal.
In April 2008 Ra..s Dawn entered the highly acclaimed Kohlekeller Studios lead by Kristian Kohlmannslehner (e.g. SIEGES EVEN, CREMATORY, SIX REASONS TO KILL) to get the new record done and produced.
The outcome of this fertile cooperation is a partly progressive and mindfully versatile Metal album with a quite modern touch – a highly dynamic, forceful record with skilled and powerful riffing and catchy hooklines.
