Bio:

A Rastilho foi formada em Maio de 1996 por Pedro Vindeirinho. Sediada em Leiria, ao longo destes 12 anos, tornou-se uma das maiores lojas online portuguesas, na venda de cd..s/vinil/livros e milhares de artigos de merchandising, na área Rock|Punk|Metal|Pop. A Rastilho Records surgiu 3 anos mais tarde, em Maio de 1999. A Rastilho editaria nesse ano o album de estreia dos aveirenses Intervenzione “Walls Of Shame” (disco actualmente esgotado) com o grafismo a ser assinado por Sérgio Cardoso, actual baixista de Wraygunn. Depois de um hiato editorial de 4 anos, a Rastilho retomaria as suas edições em 2003 com duas bandas fundamentais na actual cena Punk portuguesa: Mata Ratos e Trinta&Um. Em 2004, deu-se uma maior profissionalização no seio da Rastilho: a divisão parcial entre a Rastilho Distribuidora, a Rastilho Records (editora). Qualidade musical, cuidado estético, preços acessíveis, novas formas de distribuição no mercado discográfico e cultura Do-It-Yourself, foram em 1999 alguns dos propósitos que nos fizeram iniciar este projecto. A estes acrescentamos em 2008 a mais valia de 5 anos (2003-2008) de intensa actividade editorial e de reconhecimento mediático do nome Rastilho. A estrutura editorial profissionalizou-se em definitivo: apostamos na promoção/marketing dos nossos artistas/lançamentos; definimos com cada banda targets promocionais (Jornais, Televisões, Magazines, etc); fazemos publicidade nos media portugueses, organizamos tours promocionais; apostamos na Internet como meio privilegiado de promoção; fazemos agenciamento e tentamos o licenciamento ou distribuição dos respectivos álbuns em editoras internacionais. 2006 e 2007, foram os anos de maior reconhecimento do nosso trabalho. Iniciamos uma parceria estratégica com a Valentim de Carvalho|Som Livre para a edição de alguns dos seus artistas no formato preferido de qualquer melómano: o vinil. Legendary Tiger Man, Dead Combo, Jorge Palma, Wraygunn, Linda Martini são alguns dos nomes que escolheram a Rastilho para fazer a edição em vinil dos seus respectivos álbuns. Mais do que uma editora, a Rastilho Records é uma família onde cada banda é tratada com respeito e honestidade. Nomes como Legendary Tiger Man, Wraygunn, The Allstar Project, Linda Martini, Dead Combo, Mata Ratos, If Lucy Fell, Parkinsons, The Poppers, Born a Lion, Dapunksportif, Blood Safari, (entre outros) fazem ou fizeram parte da Rastilho. Todos os discos da Rastilho Records encontram-se disponíveis nas principais cadeias de lojas nacionais (Media Markt, Fnac) e nas melhores lojas independentes – toda a distribuição nacional é feita pelo nosso parceiro Compact Records. Podem ainda ser encontrados em todos os concertos das bandas por nós editadas e online (aos melhores preços do mercado) nos dois sites da Rastilho: www.rastilho.com e www.rastilhorecords.com. A nível internacional, temos distribuição na Alemanha e em toda a Europa via Cargo Records; na Holanda via Sonic RV; no Reino Unido via Code 7|Plastichead. 30 discos editados, aposta em novas bandas portuguesas. Nunca quisemos fechar a Rastilho numa redoma e só editar um determinado género de música. Estamos sempre abertos a novas sugestões e a novas parcerias. Rastilho Records was formed in May of 1999 in Leiria/Portugal, as an extension of the Rastilho Distribution (one of the biggest online stores in Portugal, formed in 1996). Specialized, initially, in the sources Punk, Rock'n'Roll and Hardcore, the Rastilho Records has since 2003 national distribution of its records for the main Portuguese Stores (including chain-stores like Fnac and Media Markt). Worldwide, our releases can be found in some distributors, among which we detach: Munster (Spain), DiskUnion (Japan) and PlasticHead (UK). In May of 1999, the dream to form a label company would become reality. The Rastilho would release then in this year the debut record of Portuguese band Intervenzione , with the artwork of the album to be signed by Sérgio Cardoso (Wray Gunn). The 1000 cd..s sold had not been however enough so that the label if could affirm in the portuguese market, following four years of publishing hiato. However, in 2003, two records had marked our existence definitively: two of the most important portuguese Punk/Hardcore bands (Mata-Ratos and Trinta&Um) would come to edit for the Rastilho. In 2004, a bigger professionalization in the middle of Rastilho was given: the partial division between the Rastilho distro, Rastilho Records and the Metamorfose, a new sub-label dedicated to other noises. Thus, with the Metamorfose, the Rastilho intended to initiate the edition of other musical kinds, having for base an indispensable premise: its musical and aesthetic quality .. Portuguese records as the The Poppers "Boys Keep Swinging" and Assacinicos "Ninguém Sabe Mas Tenho Medo.." would come to be edited by Metamorfose in the last years. Musical, well-taken care of quality aesthetic, accessible price, new forms of distribution in the music market and Do-It-Yourself culture, had been in 1999 some of the intentions that in had made them to initiate this project. To these we add more in 2006 the value of 4 years of intense publishing activity and media recognition of the Rastilho name in Portugal. The publishing structure was professionalized in definitive, bets in promotion/marketing of our artists/releases; we define with each band promo targets (Periodicals, Televisions, Magazines, etc); we make advertising in media, we organize tours dates; we bet in the half privileged Internet as of promotion; we make agency and we try (in set with each band) the licensing of the respective albums in international labels companies. More of the one than a label company, the Rastilho Records is a family where each band is dealt with respect and honesty. Portuguese artists as Legendary Tiger Man, If Lucy Fell, Parkinsons, The Poppers, Born the Lion, Dapunksportif, Mata-Ratos, Blood Safari, Aside (among others) make or had been part of the Rastilho - our artists and work in the Portuguese music spectrum speak for itself. For the next years, we intend to internationalize the name Rastilho Records definitively, to more target our editions for the area of the Rock..n..Roll (with all its sub-genres associates), to bet in classic editions in vinyl and to extend to our services in the areas of management and agency.
