"The Comet Despair changed everything, even creating a race of animal people (Anasiens). The humans and Anasiens formed a tentative alliance, but one tragic day a war known as the human revolt forced the two species apart.
Once again slavery and trafficking is legal and rampant, once again there is devastation in the land, and once again society is ruled by chains.
Years later, a child is born of both sides. Thirteen year old Hunter was trapped… caged… isolated… alone… enslaved… and forced to hold the knowledge that it didn't have to be this way.
Sometimes... you don''t need a comet to change the world forever." --Back cover of Predator Turned Prey by: Ravyn Crescent.
Hello! Welcome to my MySpace page ^_^
I am Young Adult Authoress Ravyn Crescent. Besides writing, I also do web design and I am an activist trying to end Human Trafficking, which is modern day slavery.
I like to hang out with friends when I can, RPG, play video and computer games, go for walks, listen to music and chat online.
I love big cats, especially Jaguars and Cheetahs, and I have studied them for as long as I can remember. Jaguars are close to my heart because they are one of the few species of big cats who's territory stretches into Arizona, where I am from. They also have such beautiful markings, rosette spots, and are shrouded in mystery as few have been able to film them in the wild. They also kill much differently than most cats. Jaguars do not strangle their pray, they have long fangs that puncture the brain, through the ear, providing a near instant kill.
I got focused on trying to help free the slaves when I was fifteen, just two years after I got out of a slavery situation myself. It came down to the fact that if I could set myself free, I could save others. My mission and job is to spread the word about modern day slavery. it is NOT S&M, it is NOT a game, it is not a choice and it is NOT an 'emo' term.
A true slave is not a slave by choice. They are often tricked into slavery, kidnapped, or sold into it. They do not want to be slaves-- none of them. If they do, then they are not slaves. Slavery is obeying someone not out of lust, but out of fear.
I'll rant more about it in my blog :)
