  • Books

Cormac Mcarthy - No Country for Old Men, The Road

Joe Hill - (Stephen King's Son) 20th Century Ghosts, Heart-Shaped Box, Locke and Key

Stephen King - definitely one of my biggest influences. Love his Dark Tower series. Love the face he puts on evil. Love the characters he brings to life and the way he expresses nostalgia.

Alan Moore - Watchmen, V for Vendetta, and From Hell, and pretty much anything by Alan Moore) is definitely one of the best books I've read. Figured it would be a good "comic book," ya know? But it turned out to be fantastic literature.

The Chronicles of Narnia - by C. S. Lewis. Childhood favorite. HUGE influence on me.

The Spiderwick Chronicles - by Holly Black & Tony Diterlizzi.

The Lord of the Rings - by JRR Tolkein. Classic. Read the series in high school and loved it. Read 'em again before the movies. And I'm doin' the sketch cards. ;o)

Amelia Atwater-Rhodes - 22-years old (or so) and already 7 quality novels published. Works in the realm of vampire and fantasy lore. Unique.

Fahrenheit 451 - by Ray Bradbury. High school favorite. Loved the symbolism and vision behind it.

The Catcher in the Rye - by J. D. Salinger. The quality of book I'm aspiring for.

Metamorphosis - by Franz Kafka. Horror in disguise.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - by Douglas Adams

Neil Gaiman - Curently reading "Neverwhere." Just getting into his prose work, but I'm likin' it.

The Voice of the Night - By Dean Koontz. Compelling and intense.

    R. L. Stine - Inspiring and scaring kids for generations.

Mark Twain - His stories have always been favorites of mine and, now that I'm older, I'm appreciating them more and more.

Digital Webbing Presents - THE best anthology in comics right now.

Noble Causes - I wouldn't still be working on this if it wasn't great.

Nightmare World - Yay! It's now in print! Get the collections!

Capote in Kansas - by Ande Park. Available on Amazon.

    Deborah Sue Dillon-Tesch

My big sis. I am who I am today in large part because of her. I'm an artist because she was an artist. I work so hard because I watched her work hard. She was always such a good person and I've tried to live up to that. She took care of me and gave me a safe place when no one else would. I owe so much to her. Love you, Debbie!

    Me pappy. ;o)

My father is the only hero I need. He's been through childhood poverty (the kinda poor that's hard to know these days), Vietnam, 50+ years of manual labor, nearly losing my mom and his own life (probably not the first time), and all kinds of stuff that I don't even know about, I'm sure. Now that he's retired and in his mid-sixties, he still gets up every morning at 3am to deliver the local paper, regardless of the weather, walking several miles. When he's done with that, he makes his way back home and fixes breakfast for my mom. Every morning.

He's done more things, read more books, and been more places than I can even imagine.

He's got the best sense of humor and kindest nature of anyone I've ever known.

He's led by example in teaching me to be a man, and I'm still learning from him every day. he's stuck by our family no matter what has happened. No matter how bad things got I never once felt like he wasn't there for us.

I've got a long way to go before I can fill his shoes, but being his namesake means the world to me.

    Aw ... me pappy. ;o)

Ray Dillon - Artist and Writer in comics, film, trading cards, gaming, and children's literature. President of Golden Goat Studios, Inc. "The Complete Package Entertainment Studio" as we like to call it.

About me: For nearly a decade I've worked as an artist in comics, trading cards, film, gaming, and anything else I can get my hands into. I've worked for companies like Image Comics, IDW Publishing, Topps, Upperdeck, and others. I'm engaged to an amazing woman and I didn't know what life or art really was before her. I never stop because I want my family to have a better life than I had growing up.

About my art: Mostly I work digital, unless I'm doing marker commissions.
