Hey metal maniacs, my name is Roberto Dimitris Liapakis, but everyone keeps calling me LIA! I first entered the music universe and moreover with the vocals, back in 1997. I am a self-teached vocalist, and the only thing I tried was to get what my voice could perform… Every vocalist needs to trust and have faith in himself and in his voice… but mostly to sing with feeling and passion - technique isn’t so important in my opinion….
Well, my first musical attempt was with the German band, Valley’s Eve. We released 3 studio albums, by B Mind Rec. and Limp Rec. (click here for more). After 1999, and the end of the tour with Nightwish and Rage, I decided to quit Valley’s Eve, and form my own band… as I pictured it in my mind and so in 2000 Mystic Prophecy were formed! Mystic Prophecy released so far 6 studio albums, with the latest one, “Fireangel” to be considered our best album, thus it rated in the 77th position of the German charts!!!
With Mystic Prophecy, I had the chance to play live on the biggest European festivals like Wacken Open Air, Rock Hard Festival, Bang Your Head Festival, Metal Camp Slovenia, Earthshaker Festival and others… as well I tour with bands such as Death Angel, Primal Fear, Freedom Call, Majesty etc…
Despite my efforts with Mystic Prophecy, on 2002 I started to work as a music producer for various bands, with the help of Christian Schmid - owner of Music Factory Studio. There, I started the Prophecy Studios, which specialized on Heavy Metal productions. To make it simple, one studio, under 2 different names , one for heavy metal groups and the second one for every other musical genre!
On Prophecy Studios, albums were recorded (with me in each production) by bands such as Mystic Prophecy, Valley’s Eve, Suicidal Angels, Descending, Inner Wish, Winter’s Verge, Emerald Sun, Crystal Tears, Casus Belli, Dustsucker and more… But more popular bands (like Firewind, Eldritch, Orden Ogan, Shatter Messiah, Winters Bane etc) mixed & mastered their albums, as well!
In the beginning of 2009, I ended working on Music Factory studios, and began working with Vagellis Maranis and so on, the Maranis Studios. V.Maranis was the vocalist of Sanvoisen - a known progressive band on ‘90s!
