BIOGRAPHY
The RED RIVER MUDCATS show is hot, rockin', and in the bag to please!
Based out of Dallas Texas, these seasoned band members have been active participants in the regional music scene of the Southern US since the mid-70's and have a combined performance experience of 60yrs. If you were around the Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia and Louisiana music scenes in the 70's, 80's and 90's you likely have heard these great players. Individually and collectively, they have toured extensively across the US and Canada over their careers, performing frequently in Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, and Louisiana. Mudcats members were integral participants of the infamous Dallas, TX music scene, and also as active members of the famed Stillwater Oklahoma Red Dirt Music scene during the 1990's. But above and beyond Red Dirt Americana, they have performed many genres of music including their beloved branded Red Mud “Texhoma Blues Rock, and Soul", appearing most recently with folks like Wayne Newton, Andrew "Jr Boy" Jones, Malford Milligan & Greg Koch, Josh Garrett and the Bottom Line, Hollywood Allstarz, Rachel Stacy, Watermelon Slim, and many others.
The band’s set list features great original tunes, some off the best selections from the Stillwater posse of writers, as well as Great Southern Rock, Roots Rock, Texas Blues, Country, and Soul covers from the likes of; Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lou Ann Barton, Janice Joplin, Storyville, Tracy Chapman, Bruce Springsteen, and John Mellencamp, The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynrd, Joe Ely, Delbert McClinton, Rodney Crowell, Dwight Yoakam, Kelly Pickler, Merle Haggard, Freddie and B.B. King, T. Bone Walker, Etta James, Wilson Pickett, Eddie Floyd, and Otis Redding.
The outstanding Dallas TX native singer/songwriter (former RCA Nashville recording artist and longtime front lady for the house band at "Cowboys Dance Hall" Dallas, Arlington, Atlanta) At Cowboy’s Liz and the band opened for almost every major label recording artist at the time. Folks like Ronnie Milsap, George Jones, Martina McBride, Tricia Yearwood, Toby Keith, Lorrie Morgan, Tracy Lawrence, Lonestar, Keith Urban, Steve Wariner and many more. At Cowboys Dance hall, Liz performed for a capacity of 3500 people, 5 nights a week for several years. At the tender age of 17 Liz began to work with notorious Dallas TX songwriter/producer Jerry Abbott of Pantego Sound Studio (father of Daryl and Vinnie of Pantera) and by 19 Liz had three number one independent country singles.
Jeff Parker - Gtr/Keys/Vocals - Newkirk, OK
Without a doubt, one of the top guitarist from Oklahoma. As a performer, he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada, playing all styles of music and sharing the stage and performing with acts such as Jefferson Starship, Alice Cooper, Buck Owens, Rodney Crowell, Johnny Paycheck, Baillie & the Boys, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Jerry Jeff Walker, Kevin Welch, Jimmie LaFave, Brewer & Shipley, Rocky Frisco, Jeff Lewis, Javina Magness, Chris Duarte, Malford Milligan & Greg Koch, Andrew "Jr. Boy" Jones, Josh Garrett & The Bottomline, and countless others. In addition, guitarist Jeff Parker as owner of Cimarron Sound Lab and a recording producer/engineer and has produced & engineered on projects for many national artists including, Rita Coolidge & Cherokee National Youth Choir, Malford Milligan, Chubby Carrier, Byron Berline, Jimmy LaFave, Levi Dennis, Ramona Reed, Tom Skinner & Farmboy, Bob Childers, Medicine Show, Red Dirt Rangers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Mike McClure & The Great Divide, Ned Ledoux, and the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus & Symphony. As a film music composer, he has also worked closely with Austin Based Rodeo Circus Films and scored several rodeo films for the Discovery Network and National Geographic, including American Bullfighter, and King of the Cowboys.
