Red Rockets of Borneo are a five-piece band hailing from Melbourne. Propelling heat-seeking, guitar-driven rock missiles in rapid-fire succession at their audience; their live shows explode off the stage.

The band were together a year before playing their first gig in 2010. In that year, Red Rockets of Borneo produced a film clip and their first album, which was later launched to a sold-out crowd at the Old Bar in March 2011.

The self-titled album was quick to achieve critical praise and medium to high rotation on PBS FM and Triple-R FM - as well as a spot on Triple-R’s Soundscape (Top 10 Listing).

Shortly after the positive reaction to the album, the launch and their clip getting medium air-time on ABC TVs RAGE, the band entered the SYN ‘Free Kick Competition’ and won - adding them to the line-up at the 2011 Reclink Community Cup, sharing the stage with You Am I and Tumbleweed.

With songs that sound like “..a skidding car careering towards an open gorge and realising at the last minute the brakes don’t work” (thedwarf.com.au), these dudes play the soundtrack to your teenage joyride.

NEW EP 'Ham' (released May 2012) available now from iTunes and on limited edition Red Rockets of Borneo USB sticks from here >> http://redrocketsofborneo.bandcamp.com/

– Dwarf Website

"A rocking and rolling punk outfit drawing on rockabilly roots with some inspiration from 60s and 70s guitar-based bands"

– InPress
