It was called dub, a sensuous mosaic cooked from vast libraries of digitalized pop; it was worship, Molly said, and a sense of community.- William Gibson - Neuromancer -State of Bass is a project created in 2008 by Kristian Fumei a.k.a. Dubmaster K, former Drum n' Bass producer and Alessia Vardanega a young and talented fashion designer wich is taking care of the visual aspect of the whole project. The idea of giving birth to the State of Bass project came from the novel "Neuromancer" by William Gibson, expecially by the part that is describing the Dub music pulsing through Zion. We see in this type of Dub music described in the novel the early roots of Dubstep music. Thereby State of Bass main inpiration can be traced in Cyberpunk culture, Industrial and Post Digital Glitch music, aswell as in Luigi Russolo's manifesto "The Art of Noises", the intent of the project is to create music without any melody, a strongly dark edged music composed in main part by noises, glitches, rumors and fragments of sound.
