In a general musical landscape, where six weeks' trends seemingly mean everything and authenticity nothing, REPTYLE stands out as an example of what rock'n'roll was meant to be.
When REPTYLE came into being in the second half of 1999, the basic direction was as clear as it is now: To explore the dark side of rock'n'roll, drawing inspiration from the best of three decades of intense, hard, emotional music. The energy and despair of 70's hard rock and punk; from the 80's, the melancholy beauty of the originators of what was eventually called "goth" and the eclectic approach of the 90's underground: All these left their stamp on the new REPTYLE as it began to crawl. Following three demo CDs, all of which met considerable critical acclaim, REPTYLE released their debut album "A High And Lonely Place" in 2004, which drew enthusiastic comments: "Goth rock at its best" (Undergroundpress), "100% goth rock entertainment" (Sonic Seducer mag), "REPTYLE might become a new spearhead of German goth" (Legacy mag).
In May 2007, the long-expected second album was released. “Consequence“ combines underground rawness, perfect songwriting and pitch-black atmosphere at a milestone of European guitar goth. With hooky anthems (“Bought Me a Lie”), dance floor stompers (“Where I Come From”, “Just Like You”) and almost frighteningly intense epics (“Under the Hammer”, “Great Opportunities”), REPTYLE presents a varied offering of high-octane goth rock.

In the beginning of 2009, REPTYLE were invited by German TV-Channel “Kanal 21” to play a gig in their studio, which was sold out and transmitted in full length on local TV.
Currently REPTYLE are in studio working on new material which is due to be released in late 2009.
REPTYLE has been a live band from the start - years of gigging in Germany and abroad with the likes of IKON, CLAN OF XYMOX, FUNHOUSE and CINEMA STRANGE, and on festivals such as the "WAVE GOTIK TREFFEN", "HERBSTNÄCHTE" or "JUDGEMENT DAY" , bear testimony to this.
REPTYLE are an underground band. They do what they feel like doing, and they'll go on with it.. Take it - or leave it.

Malaise was the headling act of this years Gothenburg Gothic Gathering, the gothic festival that takes place in Gothenburg (Sweden) every year on Halloween night .
The band, despite the recent line up changes, was in top shape and performed some of their classic hits in an uncompromising, fresh and energetic way that swept the audience of its feet ! A new, unreleased song was included in the setlist which spread waves of enthusiasm, giving a hint of how great the new album will sound. Modern gothic rock at its best!
