Jon Reed: Jon wrote his first resume when he was seventeen years old. It was not good. Since then, he has dedicated himself to improving his resume through a two-prong strategy: acquiring new work experiences and listing them in chronological order.
Jon's career includes a series of misadventures in publishing, recruiting, project management, and web site development. Jon has been involved in some hiring and some firing over the years, and has seen his fair share of resumes. His only regret about this book is that the best resume of all, which linked various projects with corresponding episodes of "Star Trek," could not be printed for copyright reasons.
Rachel Meyers: Rachel's professional history includes, in no particular order: recruiter, ice cream scooper, legal secretary, pharmaceutical conference producer, police department administrator, web site developer, Jon Reed's editor, and Friendly's® waitress.
Her (ir)relevant educational qualifications are a Bachelors of Corrections in Criminal Justice and Dolphin School. If she were inclined to list hobbies and pastimes on her resume, they would include martial arts, belly dancing, traveling to warm and exotic places, and finding ways to tread more lightly upon this Earth.
Rusty Johnson: Rusty and Jon Reed have known each other since 1980 when they were matched in the Big Brother/Little Brother program of Tulsa, Oklahoma (Rusty was the Big Brother). He is a university-degreed "commercial artist," but his favored work was in the cartooning area, until six years ago, when he seriously embraced woodcarving. When one of his co-workers suggested that his woodcarving looked like his cartooning, he felt that he had achieved artistic "oneness."
