About me:

REZA ASLAN
is a superfly author and religious scholar. He's got a list of credentials that gives him some serious street cred in the world of Islamic studies and general scholarly pursuits. Currently he's working on a new book "How To Win A Cosmic War:Understanding (and Defeating) Jihadism". But if you haven't read his first book "No god but God" you're missing out on some serious knowledge and writing prowess. Plus even though he's the greatest smartie-pants ever he's a living doll and exceedingly cool to all his groupies.

You can check him out here

www.rezaaslan.com

This site is run by a couple of groupies. Please, don't use the message feature to message Reza himself. You'll only reach a couple of girls nodding in agreement that he rules.

Great new film in progress.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. If you really support democracy, you'd avoid Bhutto like the plague.

"You can imprison a man, but not an idea. You can exile a man, but not an idea. You can kill a man, but not an idea."
Bhutto, Benazir Prime minister of Pakistan (1953– )
Benazir is not dead. She is still alive in all of us who believe and have passion for democracy, justice and human rights. Do not let this woman die in vein. TAKE ACTION in support of democracy, justice and human rights in some way, however big or small.

"Some believe there is nothing one man or one woman can do against the enormous array of the world's ills -- against misery, against ignorance, or injustice and violence. Yet many of the world's great movements, of thought and action, have flowed from the work of a single man. A young monk began the Protestant reformation, a young general extended an empire from Macedonia to the borders of the earth, and a young woman reclaimed the territory of France. It was a young Italian explorer who discovered the w World, and 32 year old Thomas Jefferson who proclaimed that all men are created equal. Give me a place to stand,' said Archimedes, and I will move the world.' These men moved the world, and so can we all."

~ Robert F. Kennedy Quotes

We all,as individuals and collaboratively, better take responsibility for moving the world immediately....moving the world to come together as ONE. If for some reason you think you are exempt from thinking about such things or doing anything about it, you had better get your head out of your ass!

That's it — road trip! What is it to SD from San Francisco, like 10 hours? That's nothin'!

MAJOR "HOTLIPS": Do you know if that telecast is posted anywhere on the Internet? Or do you have a copy? I'd love to see it.

RASHID: lol.

MONICA: Amen to that.

Nov 6 2007 2:58 PM

NO FRICKIN WAY HE WAS AT THE LIVING ROOM!!! OMG If he was I'm going to cry! Oh well, c'est la vie...if it's meant to be we will run into each other one day. Well I just wanted to tell Annie that the way I've dealt with the kind of ignorance on Bill Maher's level is by solely watching The Daily Show and The Colbert Report...because I honestly cannot take any of those network political shows seriously...let alone understand what anyone is saying since they all scream over each other. I hope everyone is doing well, keep on fighting the good fight, and I look forward to further political banter with the real intellectual elite...my fellow Aslan groupies! MUAH!

Booo for missing plugins.

Happy (late) Anniversary Groupies!
Annie B

Oct 24 2007 12:53 PM

Al-righty then: I can see my attempt to rally discourse and debate and elicit exchanges from you other groupies has failed miserably. (Is it because I'm a dirty hippie? I save water, people!)

In any case, I agree with what Reza said in the CNN interview — thanks for posting it, Stella ;)

I haven't been able to watch any of those bloggingheads.tv pieces, Maggie — I'm missing a plug-in, apparently, but it won't tell me which one, and I'm pathetically computer-illiterate...

Oh, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! (Should I have brought a gift?)
