Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Hank Williams and all the real country music from the 50s, 60s, and early 70s. The fabulous Philly Soul music that only got played in that market in the mid 60s, and the artists who soaked up this music (Hall & Oates being a prime example). White piano-based soul, as in Carole King and Laura Nyro. The one-namers: Dylan, Zevon, Springsteen, Cash, Dion. Then there's Johnny Rivers, Roy Orbison, George Harrison (Beatles and Solo career) and Mark Knopfler; this list could go on and on.
Sounds Like
Roy Orbison, you got nothing to fear. Vocally, somewhere between Johnny Rivers and Bob Dylan. Musically, everything from Dion and the Everly Brothers to Bee Gees, Hall & Oates, and Dire Straits--but they're originals--so that should cover a lot of ground.
If Johnny Rivers, Mark Knopfler, Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison wrote songs together at the gravesite of Buddy Holly, the result might be something like Roger Silverberg's music.
Hey Roger thanks for adding me, that was a great set last night at Starving Artist..glad I have discovered that place, its pretty cool! Stay in touch josh
Thank you SO much for coming down and doing a Beautiful Keyboard spot at the Show! All enjoyed it, and people commented on how Lovely the Piano sounded. Felt bad that you carried that heavy Keyboard. Sorry we didn't get to do "SAIL ON", it's a very lovely song, and one of the very best The Beach Boys have ever done.
Again, we appreciate the Lovely comment on 'One Fine Morning'. It is an especially difficult song to perform Musically and Vocally. It's a GREAT song, and we're honored to do it.
Hi Roger, Thanks for the friendship and your kind comments. We have learn't a lot from you guys, re exporting is something we are good at. Love the laid back style....is that you in the subway? Yours in Music Lucas
