Seit 19 Jahren professioneller Musiker, stand der gebürtige Schweizer Richard Koechli als Gitarrist mit unzähligen Grössen (Larry Garner, Yvonne Moore, Polo Hofer, Philipp Fankhauser, Keiser Twins, Jens Krüger, Jenny White u.v.a..) auf der Bühne, arbeitet als Studio-Musiker und Produzent für Künstler wie Dänu Brüggemann, KRIZZ oder Blues-Max - und hat sich in Deutschland als Autor der beiden erfolgreichen Sachbücher
"Slide Guitar Styles" und "Best in the West" (AMA-Verlag) einen Namen gemacht. Sein drittes Buch „Masters of Acoustic Bluesguitar“ wird in kürze erwartet.
Zusammen mit seiner CH-Band „Blue Roots Compagnie“ hat Koechli 2008 ein neues Album (sein insgesamt viertes) eingespielt, welches ihn in bester Singer/Songwriter-Manier und als Meister der Slide-Gitarre präsentiert: „laid-back“ heisst die Scheibe, welche auf dem Kölner Label MARA-Records (AMA-Verlag/ALIVE, für die Schweiz K-Tel) erschienen ist. Zweisprachige Roots-Music (französisch & englisch) vom Feinsten, welche Koechli zusammen mit seiner vierköpfigen Band anlässlich einer Tour durch die Schweizer Clubszene 2008 auch auf der Bühne eindrücklich demonstrierte (ein Live-Mitschnitt wird nächstens als DVD erscheinen). Eine Tour durch Europa und die USA kam leider nicht zustande, weil Verhandlungen mit geeigneten Konzertagenturen scheiterten (hard times for music business...). Im Moment ist Koechli deshalb wiederum vorwiegend als Sideman tätig (im Studio z.B. mit Polo Hofer, live mit Blues-Max auf ausgiebiger CH-Tour). Wenn alles nach Plan läuft, sollte 2010 oder 2011 eine neue Solo-Scheibe erscheinen – und ... dank Deinem Interesse an seiner Musik wird Richard Koechli dann hoffentlich auch in Deiner Gegend live zu erleben sein. Musicien professionnel/auteur/producteur depuis 19 ans, cet artiste d’origine Suisse est connu pour sa maîtrise de la guitare „Slide“ (il a joué avec Larry Garner, Philippe Fankhauser, Yvonne Moore, Max Summer etc.) et pour ces livres
publiés par l’éditeur AMA de Cologne (« Slide Guitar Styles », « Best in the West » et bientôt « Masters of Acoustic Bluesguitar »).
Les dernières années, Richard Koechli a travaillé sur la scène suisse principalement : avec son groupe ‘The Celtic Blues Company’ (folkrock), avec Jenny White (country-rock), avec Blues Max ou Daenu Brueggemann (blues cabaret) etc. Comme invité il a joué plusieurs fois au grand Festival ‘Blue Balls’ à Lucerne (par exemple avec Larry Garner, Philippe Fankhauser ou Zack Prather).
Sur son quatrième disque « laid-back » (enregistré avec son groupe suisse «Blue Roots Compagnie»), Koechli se présente comme chanteur/auteur/guitariste et semble avoir trouvé son chemin : 13 chansons originales en Français et Anglais, qui réunissent les passionnés de la ‘bluesy’ guitare & du 'Slide', les fans du folkrock à la Dylan, du laid-back à la J.J. Cale/Knopfler et les connaisseurs du pop-rock francophone. Koechli: « Sur scène, j’aime aussi faire plaisir aux puristes de blues en jouant quelques vieux standards du Delta - à ma façon... »
Le CD est sorti sur le label MARA-Records de Cologne (AMA-Verlag, distribué mondialement par ALIVE). En 2008, Richard Koechli a présenté son album sur la scène suisse avec son groupe « Blue Roots Compagnie » (un DVD-live sortira bientôt). Malheureusement, une tourné en Europe/USA n'a pas pu être réalisée pour différentes raisons (hard times for music business...!).
Actuellement, Koechli travaille de nouveau comme musicien de studio (par exemple avec Polo Hofer) et sur scène (en tourné avec le chanteur/comédien « Blues-Max »). Richard Koechli is a professional and popular roots-musician from Switzerland since 1990. He has played with many well known artists like Larry Garner ("…maybe I'll forget your face, but I never forget your Slide-guitar!"), Philipp Fankhauser, Hank Shizzoe, Jens Krüger, Yvonne Moore, Polo Hofer, Max Lässer, Reto Burrell, Jenny White, Andy Martin, N.Y.Cole, Keiser-Twins. He works as Studio musician and a producer for artists such as Daenu Brueggemann, KRIZZ or Blues-Max - and he has written two successful guitar-books for the famous German editor AMA ("Slide Guitar Styles" and
"Best in the West", translated in English and distributed by MELBAY). His new book „Masters of Acoustic Bluesguitar" will be released soon.
2002, Koechli decided to combine Celtic-Folkmusic with the Blues and he has produced an album called „Blue Celtic Mystery" (MARA Records LC 06842). "Highly recommended!" Koechli was a guitarist and instrumental-composer for a long time, but now he definitely seems to be on his way to the world of Songs. Together with his groovy and brilliant backup-band "Blue Roots Compagnie", Koechli just recorded a new album (meanwhile to be fourth), which presents him in best Singer/Songwriter manners and as a master of Slide guitar: The CD "laid-back" (AMA 626668), released on the label MARA-Records (LC 06842, distributed by AMA-Verlag, Germany). 2008, Koechli & his band played a lot of club-gigs in Switzerland (a live-DVD will be released soon), but unfortunately there was no way to realize a Europe- and USA-tour. Well, hard times for music industry.... Actually, Koechli works again as sideman (in the studio for artists like Polo Hofer, on tour with Blues-Max). 2010 or 2011 he'll release a new album with his own band, and then – your support helps! – we hope getting a chance to present Richard Koechli & Blue Roots Compagnie in your town.
