Riddlore? - A true OG in the underground.
This innovative emcee, DJ, and producer began his odyssey in hip-hop in 1983. Having been heavy into street life early in his journey, his style of music has always been influenced by the struggles of his people. Because hes so in tune with what really goes on in the streets, he uses his music to try to elevate the awareness of those that hear it. Not simply content to be another hood reporter, he uses the power in his words to challenge the listener to see things from different angles.
Riddlore? is an LA underground renaissance man, having mastered lyricism, production, DJ-ing and the unspoken art of gang-banging. Fortunately, he gave up the latter in 84 to put all of his incredible energy into the music, and twenty years later hes still at the cutting edge of the west coast sound. His track record speaks for itself, having worked with such luminaries as Aceyalone (All Balls Dont Bounce, Love and Hate), The Visionaries (Sophomore Jinx), Busdriver (Memoirs of the Elephant Man), The Good Brothers, Awol One, and Mikah 9.

Have you seen this man walking the streets of Philly? His signature single dread emits musical spores over sidewalks, music halls, and coffeehouses. Elliott is the ubiquitous Philadelphia musician. He has played with everyone...reading his poetry into his flute, literally, improvising with Charles Cohen, Rick Iannacone, and New Ghost, the list is long. A discography appears below. Elliott studied music and creative writing at the University of Oregon. He also studied extensively with Michael Guera (former saxophonist with thePhiladelphia Orchestra), Cecil Taylor (pianist/composer/improvisor), and Claire Polin (flutist/composer). Elliott has performed with groups including Cecil Taylor's Ensemble, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Odeon Popes' Sax Choir, Scram!, New Ghost, Atzilut (Fourth World), and Talking Free Bebop. He has collaborated in performance with poets Miguel Algarin, Gloria Tropp, Mbali Umoja, Marty Watt, and Frank Messina & Spoken Motion among many others. Venues have included Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The United Nations, The U.S. Embassy in Moscow, Yale University, The Greek Theater, Watts Towers, Lollapalooza! and scores of galleries, clubs and theaters. Pharaohs Den Cultural Space Center is run entirely on donations and on the talents of volunteers. There is no cover charge - we simply ask you to fill out a membership form and pay a nominal fee ($5-$10or whatever is suggested at the Door) and then donate to help support the Den.Musicians get a free membership when they perform at Pharaohs Den.Thanks for your Support.

MEMBERSHIPS: The Pharaoh's Den is now a "private" facility that requires you to be a member before attending any shows there, including our own. The membership is $5.00+ Donation fee and you only need to pay it once, in addition to our door price. This is because of threats from the city to shut down the Den, and is the only way they could keep their doors open. We've posted the Pharaoh's Den's rules for memberships in our blog at the top of the page if you'd like to read it.
