Some music is created to bring light into a darkened world; the music of Risingfall simply exposes the shadows for what they really are. Drawing on musical influences both beautiful and terrible; Risingfall paints a brutally truthful portrait of the world around us. Walking a razors edge between old school Thrash and modern European metal, Risingfall combines a vicious twin axe attack with a thunderous rythym section to create an agressive hybrid of heavy metal. Risingfall is quickly becoming a powerful and accessible new voice in the world of heavy metal.
Formed out of the chaotic Minneapolis music scene, singer / guitarist Dave Whitmer, bassist Jaden Adair, drummer Patrick Korwicki and guitarist Matt McNallie came together in the fall of 2005 to create Risingfall. Their shared musical vision manisfested quickly, and Risingfall was perfoming live within a few short months.
By 2007, the band was attracting major attention and exposing more and more fans their unique brand of power / thrash metal. 2007 also marked the release of Risingfalls debut full length cd Symphony of Storms, and the opportunity to share the stage with such metal luminaries as Metal Church, Finntroll, Overkill, and many others.
2008 brought great opportunity for the band, with a short mini-tour with Into Eternity, local market airplay, international cd sales, and podcast interviews.
As of the spring of 2009, Risingfall has begun writing material for their second full length album, begun an all new run of merchandise and once again prepares to unleash themsleves upon an unsuspecting world, heavier, faster, more dynamic and stronger then ever before!
Sonically, Risingfall begins where their influences end. From the very roots of heavy metal on into the new milennium, Risingfall draws upon various influences and melds them into a cohesive whole. Remaining true to their roots without sounding derivative, and with an energetic and entertaining live show, Risingfall has sucessfully set themselves apart from the rest time and again.
Risingfall released their first full length album, a self funded independent release entitled Symphony of Storms, on September 29th 2007. An ambitious debut, Symphony of Storms contains 11 tracks clocking in at just over an hour, and features iconic artwork by Finnish graphic artist Kaamos. With elements ranging from smooth acoustic interludes to full on raging heavy metal, and guest appearances by Molly Dean (vocals) and Adam Tucker (contrabass), Symphony of Storms is a must have for every metal music fan.
