ok, so we bought the Thingy 'songs 'bout angels, devils...' advance cd at a big record store clearance sale for 79 cents...this was back in '97 or '98...and then we listened to it. then we played it again. and again. and various tracks emerged as long lost microtestaments to understandings we never knew. Then I actually bought the CD from the same music retailer so that you could earn your durned royalty...cuz it was just that great! Then I went on to recommend Thingy and Heavy Vegetable to people who were into Thought Industry (Kalamazoo, MI - quirky art metal prog pop band) since y'all have the time signature changes and oddball arrangements and sing-songy vocals and stuff. And then I bought that double vinyl with '...aqua kitty' and 'frisbie' for mean cheap thru Revelation records online. And then it was Pinback and Physics and the Rob Crow records and then Team Sleep pretty much put the needle in the cherry for me. Thanks for the add!
