   About Robyn Hitchcock
YEP ROC RECORDS BEGINS ROBYN HITCHCOCK REISSUE SERIES BOX SET OF THREE CLASSICS ALONG WITH NEVER-BEFORE-RELEASED B-SIDES TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 30, 2007 Yep Roc Records is proud to announce the release of Robyn Hitchcock’s “I WANNA GO BACKWARDS” box set on October 30, 2007. “I WANNA GO BACKWARDS” encompasses expanded editions of three of Hitchcock's best-loved 80s albums, “Black Snake Diamond Role,” “I Often Dream of Trains” and “Eye,” along with “While Thatcher Mauled Britain Part 1 & 2,” a newly compiled two-disc collection of b-sides, outtakes and home demo recordings, many of them previously unreleased. All of the individual albums feature bonus tracks and enhanced liner notes, including Hitchcock's personal reminiscences on “Black Snake” and “While Thatcher,” an extract from a novel in progress on “Trains” and several pieces of original poetry on “Eye,” along with previously unpublished photos and Hitchcock cartoons. In addition to the exclusive CD box set packaging, Yep Roc will also release all three records individually in their expanded, enhanced new editions. “I Wanna Go Backwards” will also be released as an eight-record vinyl box set version complete with original LP artwork. Additionally, Yep Roc is making another long-out-of-print early Hitchcock album, 1982's “Groovy Decay,” available exclusively as a digital download. About working on the reissue series, Hitchcock states: “Your younger self is always faster and less subtle. I would sing some of the songs differently now, but on the whole they sound fine. As I've said before, age 50 isn't better or worse than age 30 for an artist: you're just leaning in from a different angle.” Over the past three decades, Hitchcock has built a large and distinctive body of work that's established him as one of rock's most respected and beloved iconoclasts. The prolific English singer/songwriter/guitarist's vivid surrealist songcraft has won him an uncommonly devoted international fan base, and created an ongoing demand for rare and unreleased Hitchcock material. Meanwhile, many of the artist's most popular and influential albums have fallen out of print and become difficult for fans to obtain, changing hands for hefty sums on the collectors' market. The release of “I Wanna Go Backwards” coincides with a recent career resurgence during which Hitchcock has released the acclaimed albums Spooked and Ole! Tarantula, and become the subject of the recent Sundance Channel documentary Sex, Food, Death…& Insects. The release of “I Wanna Go Backwards” offers the definitive retrospective of Robyn Hitchcock's '80s solo output, documenting a crucial period of this one-of-a-kind creative force. The second box, tentatively titled “Bad Case of History,” is due early 2008. It will feature all Robyn Hitchcock and The Egyptians records: “Fegmania,” “Gotta Let This Hen Out,” “Element of Light” and an alternate/outtake collection called “Dynasty.”

New Fifty Foot Hose CD!

http://anthologyrecordings.com/release.asp?album=FOgIMVzZlkK

Recorded: live on March 16, 2003 at the Beta Lounge in San Francisco

In 1967, San Francisco’s Fifty Foot Hose were certainly one of the innovators of a sound that took Psychedelia to new heights and was captured on the band’s one record, Cauldron. They are a totally unique hybrid—on one hand pulsating bay area acid rock, on the other, fractured electronic freakery, becoming one whole cohesive being. The sci-fi-ish video game-like artwork hinted at the sounds within, as did the Limelight label’s pedigree for truly progressive sounds. Band leader, Cork Marcheschi, used homemade electronic devices to create crude and experimental soundscapes and instrumental compositions that were sprinkled throughout the album.

Often starting shows with a swelling rumble that exploded into the first song, they soon developed a rabid following on the SF scene, though there was the occasional totally wrong gig, like when a very-pregnant Nancy had to perform at a Catholic Girls’ school! Still, the group wowed the crowds, performing with greats like Chuck Berry and Fairport Convention.

"Autum is your last Chance" had got to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I often have played it on my head phones (Before MP3 players) gliding through Golden Gate Park. Wonderful

I’m a singer/songwriter just trying to get my music heard by a few new people – I do appreciate I'm one of many in a long line of ‘struggling artists’ on My Space who whore themselves like this, but if you do have a spare moment please take a listen – you might be glad you did…

Please feel free to add me or get in touch and let me know what you think.

Best Wishes,

Richie.

Hi Robyn,

Its been a while and we thought it was about time we updated you on what we've
been up to. Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will
soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to
download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet.

To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are
giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby. All you have to do is send your email
address to queen.elvis@yahoo.ie and we will send it to you.

We have spent the last year rehearsing with a full band and are now ready to
bring it on the road. You can get a look at us when we appear on Balcony TV
this week with the full line up. We are currently taking bookings for
gigs/concerts/festivals and can be contacted on the email above, or through our
myspace and facebook pages.

Thankyou for your continued support in what has been a great year for us!

Best Wishes

Caroline and Colin

NEW 2009 ISSUE FOR  Lepers Produtcions
It’s free, more than ever, at  www.lepers.it
lprs038  - Luke Lukas - llll
Luke Lukas is back with  an album full of that gleeful gloom that made us love him at first sight. His trustworthy 4-tracks and him go their separate ways so he's now presenting 12 perfectly arranged folk songs to us. Luke reveals himself as a kind soul, but like the western movies taught us, a dreadful killer always hides under every placid looking Texan.
"Leaving his strongly lo-fi sound that impressed us the first time, he treasures the recipe, packing in this new plain, delightful work a caring love for vocals, which are worthy of Neutral Milk hotel, with a touch of Chordettes feel." Daniele Dileo - Lab Magazine
