The Newark Arts Council (NAC) has announced a competition to create
sculptures that will be showcased at its June 11, 2009 Annual Gala.
Artists donating their work will be eligible to win cash prizes.

One Grand Prize winner will be selected to receive a cash prize of
$1000.00 One Popular Winner will be selected to receive a cash prize
of $500.00. Up to 15 entries will be accepted for exhibition at the
Gala.

This is going to be a great mix of experimental music! Description 12/28, back, 9 pm, $8 Experimental/ Improvisational Music Showcase: "The New York Experimental Meet Up" presents some of the best up and coming experimental acts, including improvisational gurus NATTAHNAM, electronic, experimental, spacerock aliens, from the dark reaches of space, MAGIC ZORILLO, KAORU WATANABE TATSUYA NAKATANI DUET, contemporary Taiko drums, and THE INVISIBLE HAND, a collabortive improv of menacing talent featuring Zef Noise (ex-Psychic TV, Sweet Lizard Illtet), Ernest Anderson III (Slipstream Timetravel), Lawry Romani (ex-Splungent) and Tipsy Mishaps (ex-Sweet Lizard Illtet). Special secret guest performances to be announced.
