(0903) Lars Erstrand (1936-2009) was not only a world-wide known vibe-player who lived his music, he was also one of the most loving and warm people I've met, and a great listener and friend. When I first contacted him, he was curious and open even though he hadn't heard any of my music. I am proud to say he participated on my album Junita (ajabu, 2007). On 'Long Ago And Far, Far Away', among other tracks, he lay a wonderful vibe-solo. Dear Lars, may you rest in peace.

(0810) Our short film is finalized! I have been involved with several movie project together with director Sebastian Lindblad (lavette-film.se) during the years. VITRIOL is the latest among our projects. A short film based on a dream I had long ago. It deals with people in an extreme situation, something unknown and unspeakable is closing in, every man or woman for himself/herself. What happens with humanity, what is really worth something? Money, of course, is no longer valid. Pictures of your loved ones, the gasoline to take you far, far away..? VITRIOL is an apocalyptic film, a snap photo of the event surrounding one man (played by me) and his mission to take his grandpa out of the core of horror, with him. No heroes, no bad guys, only people doing what they have to do. Watch it below.

BIO
Born in Norrköping, Sweden 1976. I have been surrounded by music all my life, dad plays the trumpet and there are musicians on both sides of the family. In 1997 I moved to Uppsala for studies. There I first started studying Science of music at the university, but then moved on to just working as a musician (pianist/singer) and DJ. In 2007 I moved to Malmö were I currently live.
Both as a DJ and as a musician I play retro soul/funk/jazz/latin, mainly from the seventies or own material. In 2004 I released my first full-length album "Ambessa's Dream" (Blue Beat Productions). In September 2007 I released my second album, "Juanita" on record lable Ajabu! in malmö. The album features among others legendary Vibe-player Lars Erstrand and musicians from the Uppsala/Stockholm area. Also appearing on the album is wahwah-master guitarist Emmett North Jr (check his myspace out -played with legends like Barry White and Isaac Hayes!) 2008 in August I release my third album "Juanita & Beyond - Live studio sessions" (Ajabu!/P-Vine japan) with musicians I have met in Malmö (See left). I have two big projects coming up in 2009, "Solar Ride" wich is a full-length album aiming for early 80's funk/disco/soul and a second album on ajabu! working title "Color Green"
I have an ongoing collaboration with Soundscape records & Beatfanatic and have also worked with among others SPÅNKA NKPG, Gladys and Consuelo Del Pilar, Chuck Anthony, Johan Christher Schutz, Ingela Jansson Combo, Gibril Jobe, Tree Full of People, Sasa Ling and many others. I also write music for different companies, commercials etc, IKEA, Wonder Media, Effektfabriken, to mention a few. Moreover, I have been involved (both as an actor and writing music) in several movie projects together with director Sebastian Lindblad (www.lavette-film.se). Latest on a short film called Vitriol and the score for "Tunna Väggar".
