    Living in Paris for several years now, ROMULO MARQUES was born in Belo Horizonte. Bass and double bass player very appreciated from musicians and singers, he has been playing with: Francis Hime, Marcio Faraco, Raul de Souza, Dona Ivone Lara, Maria de Medeiros, Ricardo Vilas, Rosinha de Valença, Antenor Bogea, Bia, L’orchestre de contrebasses, Lucas Boheme, Nazaré Pereira, Rolando Faria, Luis Antonio, Alba Maria, etc.....But he is also a composer and arranger. His music, impregnated of the musical colours from his native’s Minais Gerais mountains, with a touch of Jazz and of modern classical music, brings us to a universe full of colour, mixing charm and sophistication... Few years ago, he has already conquered the public with the group “Jazz Mineiro”. Now, surrounded by a group of excellent musicians - Ney Veras playing the drums and the mandolin, the multi-instrumentalist Pierre Mimran playing the saxes ( baritone, tenor and soprano) the flute, bass flute, flute in G, and the clarinet, Gabi Levasseur playing the accordion, Pierre Perchaud and Beto Lopes playing the guitars and Zé Luis Nascimento playing the percussions – he just recorded “Fly a Kite”, a CD of his composition, which is already on the stores and by now start to call the medias’ attention. .... .. Né à Belo Horizonte, où il a grandi, ROMULO MARQUES vit maintenant à Paris. Contrebassiste, bassiste très prisé des artistes brésiliens, il a joué avec :.. Francis Hime, Marcio Faraco, Raul de Souza, Dona Ivone Lara, Maria de Medeiros, Ricardo Vilas, Rosinha de Valença, Antenor Bogea, Bia, L’orchestre de contrebasses, Lucas Boheme, Nazaré Pereira, Rolando Faria, Luis Antonio, Alba Maria, etc..... Mais il est aussi compositeur et arrangeur... Sa musique, fortement imprégnée des couleurs musicales des montagnes de son Minais Gerais natal, toujours teintée de quelques touches de Jazz et d’une pointe la musique érudite nous transporte dans un univers coloré où le charme se mêle au raffinement. .. Après nous avoir conquis il y a quelques années avec son groupe Jazz Mineiro, il s’est de nouveau entouré d’excellents musiciens - le batteur et mandoliniste Ney Veras, le multi-instrumentiste Pierre Mimran (sax alto, baryton, ténor, soprano, flûte, flûte basse, flûte en sol, clarinette), de Gabi Levasseur à l’accordéon, de Pierre Perchaud et Beto Lopes aux guitares et de Zé Luis Nascimento aux percussions - pour enregistré « Fly a Kite », un CD de sa composition, déjà dans les bacs et qui commence a attiré l’attention des médias...
