Jason Becker is known as one of the most gifted and talented guitar players in the history of music, as all world class guitarists unanimously will confirm. In 1991, while recording the “A little ain’t enough” record as the lead guitarist of the David Lee Roth Band at the age of 21, Jason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and was given less than 3 years to live. Fortunately, Jason is still around !
He eventually lost the ability to speak and now communicates with his eyes via a system developed by his father. Although his ALS gradually robbed him of his ability to play guitar, to walk, and eventually even to speak, he still remains mentally sharp and, with the aid of a computer, continues composing; he states "I have Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It has crippled my body and speech, but not my mind." Now in his 30s, his medical condition has remained stable since 1997. Jason needs 24/7 care which he gets from his family and friends. Therefore financial support is very important to guarantee Jason gets the appropriate care.

What is the Jason Becker Charity about ?
Being a huge fan of Jason Becker for more than 20 years, I have decided to run the New York City Marathon on November 2, 2008, and to set up a Jason Becker Charity around the Marathon. I will acquire sponsors for my Marathon and all the donations will directly go to Jason Becker. The scope of this Charity is truly global and it is my mission to unite as many Jason Becker fans as possible and to raise BIG money for him. We, Jason Becker fans, are obliged to pay back Jason for the fantastic music he created for us and which we still enjoy every day. Therefore the campaign is called "Time to payback !". Update: in the meantime I have finished my New York Marathon successfully in a finishing time of 3:47:05.

Jason Becker Charity: Rock memorabilia Auction !
Many rock stars have donated some of their memorabilia to our Charity to be auctioned on eBay. As per December 2008 this auction has ended, The money of all winning bids was donated to Jason. On October 11, 2008, a Jason Becker Benefit show was organized in Cupertino in the Bay Area. Among many local artists, Whitesnake bassist Uriah Duffy appeared on stage. Thanks to the organizers Michelle and Lois for putting in all the efforts ! Check out this great video of the event:

This first paragraph is something I copied from popular science. It is the reason we here in America, don’t have the mileage that Europe does. It is from an article about 100 mile to the gallon vehicles.
Recently, they've come close--in Europe. The Volkswagen Lupo 3L turbodiesel and the Audi A2, which use the same engine, have both edged close to 80 mpg. That's better than a hybrid. On the downside, that amazing three-cylinder diesel doesn't meet U.S. emission standards and the vehicles are Ringling Bros. size by American standards.
The emissions standard law, invoked by Clinton, keep great mileage Diesel powered vehicles, off our roads. No, our emission standard don’t save our environment, they save the fuel tax and high oil sales. High mileage vehicles put out different emissions than waste full vehicles. For Clinton to save the fuel tax and oil sales, he changed the standards, outlawing the emissions of high mileage vehicles! Our biggest problem with our exhaust is CO2. These high mileage diesel engines, put out less CO2, than any gas engine allowed in America!
