Jason Becker is known as one of the most gifted and talented guitar players in the history of music, as all world class guitarists unanimously will confirm. In 1991, while recording the “A little ain’t enough” record as the lead guitarist of the David Lee Roth Band at the age of 21, Jason was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and was given less than 3 years to live. Fortunately, Jason is still around !
He eventually lost the ability to speak and now communicates with his eyes via a system developed by his father. Although his ALS gradually robbed him of his ability to play guitar, to walk, and eventually even to speak, he still remains mentally sharp and, with the aid of a computer, continues composing; he states "I have Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. It has crippled my body and speech, but not my mind." Now in his 30s, his medical condition has remained stable since 1997. Jason needs 24/7 care which he gets from his family and friends. Therefore financial support is very important to guarantee Jason gets the appropriate care.

What is the Jason Becker Charity about ?
Being a huge fan of Jason Becker for more than 20 years, I have decided to run the New York City Marathon on November 2, 2008, and to set up a Jason Becker Charity around the Marathon. I will acquire sponsors for my Marathon and all the donations will directly go to Jason Becker. The scope of this Charity is truly global and it is my mission to unite as many Jason Becker fans as possible and to raise BIG money for him. We, Jason Becker fans, are obliged to pay back Jason for the fantastic music he created for us and which we still enjoy every day. Therefore the campaign is called "Time to payback !". Next to this MySpace page, there is another blog on this Charity; take a look at http://runforjason.blogspot.com. This Charity is supported by the Becker Family.
Update: in the meantime I have finished my New York Marathon successfully in a finishing time of 3:47:05.

Jason Becker Charity: Rock memorabilia Auction !
Many rock stars have donated some of their memorabilia to our Charity to be auctioned on eBay. As per December 2008 this auction has ended, The money of all winning bids was donated to Jason. We auctioned very cool stuff from great guys like Bumblefoot, Frankie Banali, Ray Luzier, Virgil Donati, Rusty Cooley, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Chris Amott, Tony Mills, Shy, Myles Kennedy, Steve Stevens, Danny Seraphine, Gus G (Firewind), Marcel Coenen, Shane Gaalaas, Lale Larson, Joey Allen, Warrant, the Rods, Craig Erickson, Marco Minnemann, Mike Keneally, Will Schut, Joe Stump, Craig Erickson,Ron Keel and Phi Yaan Zek. Jason Becker Benefit show
On October 11, 2008, a Jason Becker Benefit show was organized in Cupertino in the Bay Area. Among many local artists, Whitesnake bassist Uriah Duffy appeared on stage. Thanks to the organizers Michelle and Lois for putting in all the efforts ! Check out this great video of the event:

On Youtube, Myspace, etcetera there is so much content that you have to be found in the crowd, plus a banner advertisement for one
day would cost around 50.000 Euro per day. We have a low budget arrangement that will cost you less and you will be seen on one of best music websites in Europe! We have at the moment 22.000 unique visitors on the website and they stay on average for 31 minutes, thats even better as Youtube! And this crowd is still growing. A banner for a year would cost the band or you, 100 Euro VAT.excluded, and the band is mentioned in our newsletter. We hold the right to say no to a banner or band.
