Jamey Hamm, owner, is an Alabama native who has deep roots in the southern culture & music and yes, southern cook'n! While Roots Cafe is not a full scale restaurant, you will be able to find some traditional southern treats on the menu including: bowl o' grits, sweet taters, pecan pie, and of course, SWEET ICED TEA! There are also many of Jamey's signature sandwiches & desserts.
Roots Cafe desires to be a place of comfort for the community, a place for each person, no matter where they're from, to settle down and plant their roots. Welcome all!
My self-produced upcoming 7-song EP, "B Sides from B Street" is set to hit shelves June 30th. Come take a listen to a handful of the tracks and see what you think! Influences span the likes of: John Prine, Chris Smither, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Jackie Greene, Josh Ritter, Wilco, Redbird, and other singer/songwriters keeping the craft alive.
I'm booking shows throughout California right now if any other musicians are looking to cobill.
Hey Man, I haven't got to you for a yet, because I want to develop some new songs, and maybe put together a new band now that I'm living here. Hit me back when you think would be a good time, and I'll probably see you at next week's open mic, if not before. Tell Randi I said hi, and I'll talk to you soon. Peace. -Alec Stephens III

Thanks for the booking! Great talking to you yesterday, and I think I will be there doing more work tomorrow! Maybe I'll bring you a cd. take care
