An oriental-techno-pop 4-piece band with traditional Japanese melodies, techno sounds but not desktop music, live drums, live instruments, plus vintage synthesizers in rock band format, playing massive and fantastic live performances to show how special √thumm are. .. .. In 2007, √thumm has compete on the Strongest Synthesizer Performance Contest and recceived the Judges Award from Hideki Matsutake of Yellow Magic Orchestra and Minoru Mukaiya of Casiopea. In 2008, single "autumn love" has been ranked Top 10 charts in iTunes Store' s Electronic Music Ranking. December 2009, the first full-length album "coton" has released. And, here are a very enthusiastic review from Japanese music blog "Make Believe Melodies" : .. .. The trio takes plenty of inspiration from Perfume, Capsule and (the Japanese genre' s father) Yellow Magic Orchestra while also adding a touch of rock to the electronic-heavy affair to craft 55-minutes of ear-pleasing music. 奈良発信生楽器テクノバンド！
エレクトロ＋オリエンタル÷バンドサウンド!!!
80年代〜近年のエレクトロサウンドを吸収しながら、日本を感じさせる和のメロディー。
見る人を選ばないハッピーでファンタスティックなライブパフォーマンスはライブハウスからクラブシーンまでをも飲み込んでしまう。
純日本人が放つ、全世界へ向けたジャパニーズミュージック。ルートサム。

2007年シンセサイザー最強パフォーマンスコンテストにてYMOの松武氏、カシオペアの向谷氏から審査員賞を受賞し、2008年3月にはシングル「autumn love」がiTunes StoreエレクトロニックランキングBEST10入り。同曲はDJ NOZAWAのmixCDに収録されるなどヒットし、同年8月自主制作盤「seek a floria」をリリース。

同年末にはZEPP OSAKAで行われた2008-2009カウントダウンイベントに出演。
2009年7月には東京・大阪で開催される都市型フェス『NEUTRAL NATION 2009』にてMice Paradeやサカナクション、toeなどのビッグアーティストとの共演。
また√thummが盟友nuxxとダンサブルなバンドを集めた人気イベント『TECHROCK』を主催している。
話題の謎のキャラクター"ジャッピー"などアートワーク面で現代アートチームAntennaとコラボし、 同年12月初の全国流通盤"coton"を発表。
収録曲NEU!のアナログカットや、テレビラジオなど多数メディアに取り上げられるなど話題を呼び、2010年7月パリにて行われるJAPAN EXPOに出場が決定する。
2010年7月28日には待望の2ndフルアルバム"YAMATOPIA"が発売決定！
