ROSE MAX -
Bio

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Rose Max is the great-grand daughter of the musician and conductor Cupertino de Menezes and granddaughter of the guitar player Manuel de Menezes, both legends of the early Brazilian music in Rio de Janeiro.
She started singing professionally with the Octeto Rio Orchestra performing in the musically wealthy nightclub scene of Rio.
She studied vocal technique with Graciela di Salerno, Nancy Miranda and Suely Mesquita.
She also studied theory and ear training at the lnstituto Vila Lobos and Centro de Instrução Musical Ian Guest.
Rose graduated with a degree in Portuguese and Literature from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
She moved to the US in October of 1993, where she keeps a very busy performing schedule (about 260 shows per year).
She has become highly recognized in the Brazilian, Spanish and American communities.
Rose Max won for the 6th time ( 1997,1998,2001, 2006 ,2007 and 2009 ) the International Brazilian Press Award for the "Best Female Brazilian Singer Residing and Performing in the USA".
In 2003, Miami’s New Times Newspaper
elected Rose Max the "Best Female Vocalist" of the year and in 2005 like a "Best Lounge Act" of the year.
In 1999 , Rose Max had her Permanent Residency approved in the USA as an ALIEN OF SPECIAL ABILITY, like a "promoter/ambassadress" of Brazilian music and culture in this country.
She has recorded four CDs solos:
ROSE MAX-BRAZILIAN JAZZ(2002), ATLÂNTICO(2003), FRESH (with RAMATIS)(2004),
THE SINGERS OF BRAZIL by ROSE MAX(2009).
And the DVD THE SINGERS OF BRAZIL by ROSE MAX(2007)
Her voice can be heard in a lot of the songs in compilations around the world (HED KANDY,CAFE DEL MAR, CHILL BRAZIL,LATIN DELUXE, GLOBAL LOUNGE SESSIONS, MIAMI AFTER DARK, RACOON-UNIVERSAL VIBES, etc,etc,etc)

Born in Rio de Janeiro, capital of Bossa Nova, Ramatis began classical guitar studies at the age of seven.
At the age of twelve he began performing professionally at local bars and nightclubs.
Pretty soon, he found himself backing up the biggest names in Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), including Roberto Menescal, Johny Alf, Peri Ribeiro, Maria Creuza, Claudia Telles, Elizete Cardoso, João Nogueira, Roberto Ribeiro, Jovelina Pérola Negra, João de Aquino, Markus Moura, Moreira da Silva, Golden Boys, Tim Maia and many others.
Ramatis studied music at the Estácio de Sá University and was later tutored by the legendary Maestro Aristides Santos.
Ramatis is considered one of today’s biggest Bossa Nova guitarist/bassist in the US and has been living in Miami for the past 15 years, playing MPB, Brazilian Jazz, Electronic Music and Bossa-Nova at the most prestigious local venues ( Jazid, Hemisphere Lounge, Flute, Jade,Favela Chic, Four Seasons Hotel, Delano Hotel, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Amaturo Theater at Broward Center for thePerforming Arts, Jackie Gleason Theatre, Manuel Artime Theatre,Gusman Center, Sunrise Theatre,Parker Play House, The VanDyke Cafe,Touch Lounge, etc, etc, etc).
In 2001 Ramatis won the International Brazilian Press Award for the "Best Musical Producer of the year".
He is also a successful songwriter, producer and arranger, currently signed to Warner Chappell Publishing.
