21st September 2009: Ross Couch - The Directors Cut EP - Body Rhythm 018
Whilst working on the 'Night And Day' album I came up with over 20 ideas, but there was only space for 12 on the final LP. The ideas that didn't appear on the album weren't necessarily of inferior quality though, in many instances it was just that they either weren't finished in time or didn't fit style wise with the other tracks. For this new 'Directors Cut' EP I've chosen 3 of the ideas that didn't appear on the album and developed them into full tracks.
This EP is now out on full release and available from the following stores:
BEATPORT : TRAXSOURCE : STOMPY : JUNO DOWNLOAD : PRIMAL : CLICKGROOVE : BEATSDIGITAL : DJTUNES : WASABEAT : DJDOWNLOAD

Also out now is a remix I did for Fabien Kamb's track 'Homelands' on his Low Flow label. The EP also features remixes from JP & Jones and Krummstoff. Get your hands on a promo now at BEATPORT

25th AUGUST 2009: Ross Couch - Changing Seasons Music Video
To support my new 'Changing Seasons' track from the 'Directors Cut EP' on Body Rhythm I've got an animated music video which you can watch below! The video wasn't made for the track, it's called 'Four Seasons' by talented Japanese Artist Tomoko Konoike and was produced in 2005 for a different project. However it is now available to use by way of the Creative Commons License and since it fitted the theme of my track so well I couldn't resist using it. Enjoy!
The track was specially edited for the video, you can buy the full unedited version right now at: BEATPORT

1ST JULY 2009: NEW INTERVIEW AND A NEW ALBUM REVIEW
A big thanks goes out to the Beatport staff who are continuing to be supportive of my album. In an interview I did which they've chosen to appear on the main feed of their Beatportal site they describe the LP as "one of the most competent and well rounded house albums of the year, with a sound that bridges dancefloors and home stereos with warm soothing chords, serene vocals, funky rhythms and chunky house grooves." Thanks guys! Check out the full interview HERE.
Also a new review of the album has appeared on the Deeplink.info site where they give the overall verdict of "absolutely recommended". See the full review HERE
Thanks to everyone who's supported this so far. I should have another review or two incoming in the next week or so.

BIOGRAPHY:
With a seemingly insatiable appetite for producing quality dance music and an ability to switch effortlessly between the scenes numerous genres thirty year old Ross Couch has become an highly respected producer with an enviable CV of over 50 releases on an impressive list of labels, numerous remixes and dozens of licenses to commercial mix CD’s including some of the biggest franchises in dance music like Ministry Of Sound, Bargrooves and Café Del Mar.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, a long recognised hotspot within the dance music community, it's little wonder that Ross became seduced by the rapidly evolving sound of house and techno in the early 90's, and quickly became involved in producing his own material. His productions first materialised on vinyl via the Bellboy and Panther labels in 2001-2002 and he hit the ground running with his first appearance on 12” being a remix of Japanese Star DJ19. The often difficult to pigeonhole brand of dance-floor techno and melodic tech house he displayed on his early releases had him being compared in the press to numerous dance music luminaries such as Deep Dish, Dave Angel, Slam and Ron Trent to name but a few. It wasn’t long before ‘Backforce’, the main track on his first release for Bellboy was chosen by legendary techno producer Thomas Schumacher as the opening track to his ‘Perlen 3’ Mix CD - a series highlighting the “Pearls of his record collection.” Though this could be seen as an early indication that Ross was making his mark on the scene, the truth is he was only just getting started.
By 2003 Ross’ sound was maturing and he began developing his signature style, a unique blend of styles influenced by the melodic sound of deep house whilst retaining the dance-floor energy of his earlier productions. UK magazine I-DJ noted at the time that “Ross Couch straddles the line between deep and tech house with style” whilst music journalist John freer dispensed with sub-genres simply exclaiming “Ross Couch makes astounding uncategorizable House tracks!” This new take on his sound helped secure releases on a series of highly regarded labels of the time including Siesta, Kinky Vinyl, Red Melon and Shaboom’s sister label Blaxtrax, all gaining widespread DJ and radio support. The popularity of his releases was also highlighted by numerous appearances in leading charts such as Coolcuts and DJ Magazine’s Hype Chart where the ‘Dirty Dancing’ EP on DTrax under his System Check alias reached the No.3 spot.
Around 2005 Ross began to develop close ties with the Bargrooves empire (now owned by Defected) releasing several 12" releases and remixes across their series of labels over the next few years, as well as appearing on many of their popular mix CD's and showing his DJing credentials by personally mixing and engineering a number of them. During this period he also continued remixing for a number of artists including Nigerian Soul and RnB star Nayo’s debut single ‘African Girl’, with his remix reaching No.11 in the UK Club Chart. All of this only helped to strengthen Ross’ reputation with DJ Magazine calling him “one of the last years freshest talents” whilst M8 Magazine labelled him as “a truly gifted producer”.
In 2007, after several years of releasing on other labels and with digital stores taking a hold of the market Ross took the next logical step and began releasing music through his own newly launched Body Rhythm label. It has proven to be a wise choice and the past two years has seen a constant output of high quality house music, gaining a loyal fan base, regular support from some of the world best known DJ’s like Laurent Garnier and top 10 sales chart appearances on many of the leading Digital Download sites including No.1’s on the Deep House charts at Beatport and Juno Download.
2009 looks like being his biggest year yet with his long awaited debut album due for release in the summer as well as a packed release schedule for his labels and regular invitations to DJ in clubs all across the globe it’s safe to say that you’ll be hearing a lot more from this in-demand producer in the future.

I don't care what anybody says: "We Belong Together" is the shit Ross! Now THAT is a worthy TUNE. And stop being so sneaky: tell me when you're dropping things so I don't have to stalk you as much. hahaha
FACEBOOK (You'll love it Ross, really you will. Don't be afraid, now...).
I grant you permission to get on with your bad self as always!
Not naming any names... but a couple of current projects sure do sound a bit Couchy to these ears. Your influencing your peers, Ross. Generally a good sign, but you might wanna step on the gas and lose them... hahaha I know whatever you do next is gonna be worth hearing. No doubts there.
the ROSS! i forgot who did that awesome da funk remix, but I remembered he was irish and wrote something on my wall. i spent the past 30 minutes finding your comment!!
Ross, I'm dying to hear a mid-down tempo mix of "Tell Me Why"... I had names to suggest but I saw Jevne in your friends and the lightning struck. Maybe one day, eh? hahaha
I bought that song Ross, I never buy music. I Salute You Mr. Couch on joining a very elite group of artists that have contributed to my overdraft!!
You are only starting with the good work, Ross. Celebrate!
Ross I LOVE "tell me why". I really do. are you an Art of Noise fan? I really like where you're headed with that: it evokes all kinds of things but it's got an "epic 1970's tv theme" kind of sound that is really hot. Maybe I'm the only one hearing that in there, but it's hot!
You dont buy a pair of jeans just wear them the once same goes with tunes Ross no point in buying them just for them to sit on shelves after a few plays.
Cheers fro the add Ross , No Return still gets a run out in the sets now and again. not got round to hearing the album yet but will do. keep the tunage coming ,take care and all the best.
