Terry Ray Gould started playing guitar at 15, inspired by Mason Williams' 1969 release of Classical Gas. 2,035,457 practice runs of House of the Rising Sun and endless lessons on a borrowed Gretsch Double Anniversary slowly drove his family and friends crazy, where they lovingly remain ever since.
Suzi Hastings started singing for family and friends 11 minutes after she was born. With starring roles in many of the musicals at the Newport Opera House, Suzi is one of the most recognized faces and voices of the alumni of leading ladies honored at the Opera House.
Terry and Suzi met in the '90's playing tennis, and became fast friends. Each was aware that the other had musical interests, but the idea of teaming up to match Terry's guitar with Suzi's vocals never came up until a week before the 2006 Annual Talent show at the Newport Opera House, when they decided to enter with a cover of Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me If You Don't. The act and team was a success, and the duo, Second Wind, was born.
Second Wind has developed a sound and style that is truly from the heart. Their friendship and trust in each other is evident in their lively stage banter and musical performances; each enjoying and supporting the performance of the other. Playing and singing from the heart... with a touch of fire.
