Five guys from the New Jersey/ Philly area sounds like the most cliche story for a pop-punk band, but no one has more fun than the guys in Rushmore. Credited for their music sounding as flagrant as dragon-sized flames (don't worry, we don't understand that either) by Absolutepunk.net, the band is highly noticed for it's catchy hooks and anthematic sing alongs. Rushmore has earned a nomination for an MTV VMA in 2009 for Best Breakout Artist, earned a spot on the 2009 Vans Warped Tour, and won mtvU's Battle of the Bands in 2007. The band has opened up for the likes of All Time Low, Cobra Starship, Metro Station, The White Tie Affair, The Plain White T's, and Secondhand Serenade(to name a few).
Rushmore recently finished up on their "Economic DisasTOUR" presented by Hot Topic and absolutepunk.net in support of their new EP, "D-List Celebrities." The band was also named one of the top 5 musical acts in the Philly Sound Clash which highlights acts in the Philadelphia area. Rushmore was the only punk band in the top 5. Rushmore was one of the top 25 unsigned bands according to mtvU and Drive Thru Records. Due to their success with mtvU, Rushmore was nominated for the mtvU Woodie Awards for the category of "Best Music On Campus." Rushmore is ready to break out of the local scene and onto a bigger stage.
