Russell Stafford is an Australian born singer/songwriter residing in Portland, Oregon.
Since releasing his debut album “Freshwater” in 2005, Russell has shared the stage with such prominent artists as Augustana, Anna Nalick, Josh Radin, Mat Kearney, Meese and more. His unique sound, powerful performances and genuine character have garnered him both local and national radio airplay, and a dedicated Northwest fan base.
In 2008, Russell released the much awaited follow-up to Freshwater. Fittingly titled "Between You & I", he continued his efforts to break out of typical singer/songwriter restraints. In 2009, Crucial Music Publishing began using songs from Between U & I for select national broadcasters and independent films
The album weaves from the pop/rock single "Cheap Wine”, to the all out rocker, "Every time I come down" with a cohesive sound that’s as unexpected as it is unique. Joined by guitarist Kevin Hahn (Animotion, Tri-Polar, Castella, Kleveland), Bassist Dain Ryan (Dirty Little Fingers) and drummer, Jason Fellman (Breakfast Club, Jason Fellman Band), "Between You & I" is a testament to the diverse talent of this young songwriter.
Russell also lends his music and talents to many local and national charities, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The Humane Society and the Doernbecher Children's Hospital.
