"I am what i'v listened to, not what i'v learned!" S.O.S. aka Lady Smiles from Vienna is a music lover trough and trough and already since the early 80's known in Vienna’s Soul- and Funk scene for her unresting efforts concerning good vibes and magnificent music. In the early 90's she started to manage a Cuban band and so, over many years, she adopted a very well knowledge about all the different latin music styles too. In 2000 she slides into Nu_Jazz, Headz, Groove, Electro, Afro beats, Nu_funk, Dub and some soulful House music stuff. Her affinity for delicious sounds raised up and results in a constant growing selection of own tunes and finally she took her first steps as DJane in winter 2005. She started to spoil the audience of well known Vienna locations like e.g. at: Cafe Leopold, Strandbar Herrmann, "Sand in the City" at Heumarkt, as at the Arcadium in Graz, Baraki Bar (GR) and Rote Bar/Nürnberg (GE). To her clients full satisfaction, she also played at plenty of privat venues as business events like e.g. JAM - fashion fair at Cologne, VRMedien-Event at Kursalon Hübner, staff member event from Hypo Bank NÖ, Latin night at Therme Bad Radkersburg and at the premiere party from the "Rocky Horror Show" at Museums Quartier (to only name a few!). Furthermore, since Sept. 2006 she is member of the Music Lab DJ-Team @ the H12 BAR / Style Hotel Vienna, playing her jazzy influenced sets twice a month there. Already several times Lady Smiles was invited to produce some fresh Radio guestmixes for the public listeners in Spain, Greece, Germany, Romania & USA, as she successfuly complited on the Soul Seduction Radio Days 2007(to listen up on the player above!). Since lately she is host of SMILES STYLES FOCUSED, a proper monthly Radio show on Radio Orange 94.0 FM / Vienna. But, Lady Smiles is not a wild turntable wizard, who attach more importance to show-mixing, NO, not at all, its ALL and ONLY about good heart-grown-music! The audience simple likes her enthusiastic, smiling way, the positive vibes which she spreads while just doing what she loves most to do: Playing her beat selections made of down tempo music mixed with lounge melodies, swinging nu_jazz beats and well chosen up-lifting dancefloor grooves – well, that’s about her favourite DJ matters... ________________________________________________________________ April 2007 to May 2008: S.O.S. aka Lady Smiles was bred at ebam-Music Business Academy to a certificated Music Management Assistant and finally launched her proper company SMILES RECORDINGS in Dec. 2008. ________________________________________________________________ MUSIC CONNECTS THE PEOPLE and it keeps me staying real, fresh and most of all: it keeps me damned alive! :D
