S.O.S. aka Lady Smiles is DJane - Sound Consultant - Music Management Assistant & Label Founder ____________________________________________________________ ---> "I am what i'v listened to, not what i'v learned!" <--- Lady Smiles is a music lover trough and trough and already since the early 80s known in Vienna’s club scene for her unresting efforts concerning good vibes and magnificent music. Strongly infected in her youth by the gorgeous tunes of e.g.: Gil Scott Heron, Grover Washington, B.B.King, Les Mc Cann, James Brown, Jonny Guitar Watson, etc. In the early 90s she started to manage a Cuban band and so, over many years, she adopted a very well knowledge about all the different latin music styles too. In 2000 she slides into Nu Jazz, Headz, Groove, Electro, Afro beats, Dub and some House music stuff. Her affinity for delicious sounds raised up and results in a constant growing selection of own tunes and finally she took her first steps as DJane in winter 2005. She started to spoil the audience of locations like e.g.: Musik Kiosk, Cafe Berfin, Adria Wien, Cafe Leopold, Laderraum/Badeschiff, Strandbar Hermann & Arcadium/Graz. Since Sept. 06 she's resident DJane @ Musiclab in the cultivated H12 BAR / Stylehotel Vienna, playing her jazzy influenced sets twice a month there and in autumn/winter 07 she hosted the monthly “Smiles Night” at Ra’mien Bar... more to come soon... ;-) But, S.O.S. aka Lady Smiles is not a wild turntable wizard, who attach more importance to show-mixing, NO, not at all, its ALL and ONLY about good heart-grown-music! The audience simple likes her enthusiastic, smiling way, the positive happy vibes which she spreads while just doing what she loves most to do: Playing her beat selections made of down tempo music mixed with lounge melodies, jazzfloor beats and well chosen up-lifting grooves – well, that’s about her favourite dj matters... ___________________________________________________________ Some while ago her strong music interest + activities made it possible to met up with some powerful people and so the idea to form the indepented Vienna label SMILES RECORDINGS was born, but: all the real good things, take their real good while ...just wait and listen... ;-) ___________________________________________________________ 2007-2008: Bred to Music Management Assistant at Ebam Music Business Academy & Sound Consultant for var. compilation projects. _________________________________________________________ MUSIC CONNECTS THE PEOPLE and it keeps me staying real, fresh and most of all: it keeps me damned alive! :D ___________________________________________________________ About a privat MY.space compilation i did in summer 06 for the music journalist from the KURIER (Austrias biggest daily newspaper), just to interduce him this special world wide music platform and all those amazing musicians, dj's, producers, labels, radiostations + beatfreaks, which are my friends + music mates.
