Saccade are a four piece indie-pop rock band hailing from the northside of Dublin, Ireland. Having already enjoyed high profile support slots with bands such as The Coronas, Delorentos, The Flaws, and Ham Sandwich over the last 6 months, they have been steadily making a name for themselves on the live circuit.
So the story goes...
After forming in 2006, the band spent their first year writing, rehearsing, recording, and gigging the live circuit in Dublin. Spring 2007 saw the release of their debut E.P 'Choose Your Own Adventure', with one of the tracks, 'Wasting My Time' reaching number 5 in the downloadmusic.ie chart. 'Wastin' My Time' was also selected by an independent panel of industry experts to be included on the downloadmusic.ie USB album, launched in August 2008.
Saccade also featured on the TG4 TV show Deis Roc, getting as far as the semi finals, and impressing each of the judges, with Horslips member Jim Lockhart declaring them, "the best band in the competition".
Saccade also released a double A side single Courtesy Class/Stupefy in Sep 08 which received ecstatic reviews from Hot Press Alumni Jackie Hayden and another top 5 placing on download music.ie.
Whilst also working on their debut album, 2008/09 has seen the band complete a cross country tour of Ireland, getting their music out to the public and receiving fantastic feedback from all the gig-goers.The lads were also shortlisted for the JD set 09. Now, with the album almost in the bag, the next 12 months are sure to be a hectic time in the world of Saccade.
Saccade also feature on the CEOL 09 cd alongside The Swell season, Duke Special and Cathy Davey, their song Useless/ Oinseach was selected and the album currently lies in the Irish top 10, so keep on buying.
Having spent the last 6 months writing and recording their debut album the boys are ready to release, LAST TANGO on the 6th of NOV 2009 so watch this space!
