My name is Sage Emeralds. I am a Los angeles based musician who specializes in alternative hip-hop. My sound is influenced by dirty south rap, underground hip hop, dubstep, and rock music. My fans say i sound like Snoop Dogg, Easy E, and The Living Legends. I blend laser sharp soul piercing lyrics with electronic sounds in a psychadellic fashion. I am originally from the Bronx in New York city but I grew up in Blythewood, South Carolina. When I was 14 I was inspired by the incredible music coming out at that time. My favcorite artist are Nirvana, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Wu-tang clan, Mobb Deep, and Nas. I began wriiting writing and recording music everyday after school using two tape recorders, I made my own beats with a casio keyboard my mother bought for me. The next year I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and performed at the high school talent show. I was really nervous before I went on stage but afterwards i knew that i wanted to be a performer for the rest of my life. I started sneaking out of the house at night and sneaking into clubs to battle older rappers, i also performed at local talent shows, showcases, and open mics. I released my first cd "The First of Many" and sold 200 copies. I performed live on Power 98 (Charlotte,Nc) and somehow i managed to get a few of my songs played on Power 98 (charlotte) and Hot 92.7 (Charlotte,Nc). I have performed at legendary underground venues accross the United States such as ; The Pool Palace (Atlanta), The Honey Bee Lounge (San Diego), The Airliner (Los Angeles), and The Spot (Charlotte,Nc). I have Performed with and opened for many artist including 6blocc, The Glitch Mobb, D4L, Bishop Lamont, Wayne Wonder, Collie Budz, Diesel Boy, and an unthinkable number of others. I have released over 12 cd's independently and I have Moved over 8,000 copies of my music so far.
