"Blessed with a penchant for writing memorable melodies and openhearted lyrics that complement her full-throated vocals and acoustic strumming... it will be interesting to see how her particular brand of (folk) evolves over time." - John Lewis, Baltimore Magazine
sahffi is an all-original artist based out of Baltimore. Her style is a spontaneous blend of rock, folk, jazz and blues, all stemming from her early love of classical music.
She began her musical career at an early age with the French horn. After graduating from The Peabody Conservatory, sahffi went on a soul-searching journey to find her true calling. With a driving need to write intensely inspired songs and lyrics, she became a solo artist in 2001.
Her second album, “Turning Tides,” was released in September of 2008. The album chronicles her journey into motherhood and features her sister Shelly Work singing full-throttled harmonies, a full band, local guest artists and musicians from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. The album was recorded at The Bunker Studio in Cockeysville, MD and mastered by the Grammy award-winning Charlie Pilzer of AirShow Mastering in Springfield, VA.
The album reveals a truly seasoned artist, poet and musician. sahffi and her sister’s voices soar above the dynamic orchestration, while lyrics and melody weave in and out of expressions known only to the soul.
sahffi’s debut solo album, “…and I am not sorry.,” was release in June of 2003. Both albums are available at http://www.cdbaby.com.
Her performances have been praised as “inspiring,” “magical” and “bewitching,” and she can perform solo, as a duo with her sister, or with her full band.
sahffi & her band perform "New Orleans Woman" on November 14, 2009, at Austin Grill in Baltimore.

alright, so people always say happy hump day for Wednesdays. I think its just as strange to say happy Uphill on Tuesdays, or happy Downhill on Thursdays, but i've never ever seen or heard anyone wish that. -Brandon
