Samba Já is Eugene’s own bateria - a thirty-member mobile percussion ensemble. They specialize in playing wild, funky, infectious, and incredibly danceable street music from all over Brazil and the Americas, from the sounds of Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro to hip-hop tributes. Diverse, playful, and innovative, Samba Já recently celebrated its sixth birthday under the artistic direction of founder Jake Pegg. Samba Já will bring its irrepressible, ecstatic rhythms to your parade, party, festival, grand opening, or other large event.
Combining the talents and enthusiasm of people from all over the world and all walks of life, Samba Já has performed at venues such as the Oregon Country Fair, Eugene Celebration, Eugene First Night, Saturday Market, Wildish Community Theater in Springfield, the WOW Hall, McDonald Theater and enthusiastically received elementary school concerts. Come dance along in the parade with Samba Já!

Hey guys, football is over for me. We made it to the play-offs this year. For the first time in my 7 years of playing. I'm ready to come back and jam. Sorry i've been gone so long. I miss you guys. I was in Seattle for my play-off game, which also happened to be "Pride weekend", and I saw a group that looked jus like us. I thought it was Samba Ja! They played the exact same music. I almost ran out into the parade to play, lol. Somebody give me a buzz and let me know when practice is. I work in Beaverton during the week and come home to Eugene on the weekends. My birthday is tomorrow so i'm going back to Seattle to watch the final play-off game so no practice for me, lol. See you all next weekend. Hello and big hugs to all.
