HELLO
My name is Sam. I play music. My debut album "Bears" was released on June 22nd 2009 on Hear You Me records. It took a long time to make. My band and I are very proud of it.
I have played over 400 shows in the last 3 years. It has been intense. Its time to work on the second album. Songs are being written. They sound good. One day you will get to hear them.
It's like an indie cottage industry. Friends do my artwork, make my recordings and run around with my mailing list. We do all the driving.
I have released many singles/EPs and things. They are all over there on the left. You can buy many of them and other things like t-shirts from my ONLINE SHOP.
I played the BBC Electric Proms in November 2007, playing with Edwyn Collins and then going on the BBC Introducing Tour. In May 2008 I went on the White Ribbon Alliance's Convoy to Cape Town and played at townships and clubs across South Africa. I've played at fun festivals like Great Escape, Wireless, Glastonbury, Latitude, V Festival and Truck. I've done sessions for Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Colin Murray (Radio 1), Zane Lowe (Radio 1), Janice Long (Radio 2) and John Kennedy (XFM). I've had my songs played by Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Colin Murray, Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens on Radio 1, and also by John Kennedy and Steve Harris on XFM. Kerrang and many other regional stations have been kind enough to play my songs too.
I've played with lots of other bands and artists, like Tellison, Dave House, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Luke Leighfield, Johnny Foreigner, Scouting For Girls, Frank Turner, Pigeon Detectives, Goodbooks, Ben's Brother, Kate Walsh, KT Tunstall, Athlete, The Fratellis and Walter Schreifels amongst others.
Hey Sam, been meaning to say for ages - love the album. Had forgotten a bit about you, but just heard you in the background on 'Chuck' and it reminded me how much I like your music. Keep up the good work!
Best of luck with your last London gig and whatever you decide to do next. Thanks for all the music you've given us. You just cropped up on my shuffle playlist and it prompted me to both smile and come to your page to wish you well. Sorry I can't be at your London gig but rest assured you'll be making regular appearances on my last.fm page. Good luck. xx
listening to bears aplenty. enjoying such music. art thou coming to Melbourne quite soon. I saw that you were playing a gig at the Corner - any other shows? Look forward to seeing thyself in fleshy form.

This is our last gig of the year (we're out of money and have had to retreat to native homelands for home cooking and arguments) so its gonna be a gooden.
