HELLO
My name is Sam. I play music. My debut album "Bears" was released on June 22nd 2009 on Hear You Me records. It took a long time to make. My band and I are very proud of it.
I have played over 400 shows in the last 3 years. It has been intense. Its time to work on the second album. Songs are being written. They sound good. One day you will get to hear them.
It's like an indie cottage industry. Friends do my artwork, make my recordings and run around with my mailing list. We do all the driving.
I have released many singles/EPs and things. They are all over there on the left. You can buy many of them and other things like t-shirts from my ONLINE SHOP.
I played the BBC Electric Proms in November 2007, playing with Edwyn Collins and then going on the BBC Introducing Tour. In May 2008 I went on the White Ribbon Alliance's Convoy to Cape Town and played at townships and clubs across South Africa. I've played at fun festivals like Great Escape, Wireless, Glastonbury, Latitude, V Festival and Truck. I've done sessions for Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Colin Murray (Radio 1), Zane Lowe (Radio 1), Janice Long (Radio 2) and John Kennedy (XFM). I've had my songs played by Jo Whiley, Zane Lowe, Colin Murray, Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens on Radio 1, and also by John Kennedy and Steve Harris on XFM. Kerrang and many other regional stations have been kind enough to play my songs too.
I've played with lots of other bands and artists, like Tellison, Dave House, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Luke Leighfield, Johnny Foreigner, Scouting For Girls, Frank Turner, Pigeon Detectives, Goodbooks, Ben's Brother, Kate Walsh, KT Tunstall, Athlete, The Fratellis and Walter Schreifels amongst others.

Hello Sam, nice blog.....sad news! I remember writing a similar thing when my band finshed! Oh well...new chapter and all that. I'm still on my way moving to Malvern, it's going to be beginning of Dec (at last, it's only taken 2years!). Hope to see you about. I hear The Lamb is the place for music?! Merry Christmas! C.
Awesome set as always Sam @ Southsea Fest yesterday. The three new tunes you played sounded amazing - even on a first listen! :) Enjoy your time off and see you - soonish! xx
Funny but I never realise just how much I've missed seeing you play live until you start your set :-) Here is the link to my video of Carousel For Three @ the end of your Southsea Festival gig. Hope you enjoy it and your break but also hope you won't be away TOO long! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGjBORrkTAs PS Thought the three new songs you played were ace - and that just on one listen! xx
Congratulations on getting Sideways played on MOTD! I love that song! I love the album! Really pleased that the NME music reviewer scored an own goal - haha! Look forward to seeing you @Portsea along with a whole bunch of excellent bands. This is MY festival!
just stumbled across NME's review Sam...did you ask for a re-write? it was literally the most ridiculous piece of writing i've ever read, normally they are funny, not shit!
i'm sure it didn't get you down and you realized it was not musically relevant at all plus the albums great, you must tell me the BPM's of your songs, as they are the best songs for running to :]
hope your well man James
PS oh! i got twoducks to do my EP artwork, he really is great at what he does, thanks for linking me!
