  • Movies

a hard question for a hyperactive Film Buff but the energy in films like "The man with the movie camera" from Dziga Vertov and the work of Jean Luc Godard, F. Truffaut, Wong Kar Wai, Hal Hartley, Andy Warhol's (16mm bw films), and maybe more than 2000 other films I've seen in places like the beautiful Cinemateca ( Portuguese Film Museum, maybe just here I've watched at least 500) in my friends places, in airplanes, in the streets, in dive movie theatres where you can actually smoke, to film festivals or at classes in the university to my own private sessions with that someone special that are always the best...made me a Filmmaker & AudioVisual Artist totally addicted to the power of moving images and experimental approach to both sound and image which develop in creating an extended library of moving images used in my VJ Sets under the aka name of LISBON SPEKTRUM KORPORATIONsince 2002.
  • Television

still the most powerfull media either we like it or not...
  • Books

since I was maybe 5years old that I found my self falling in love by reading dreaming thru letters ordered in rows printed in paper leading me to become close to a bookworm. Also having a father fanatic/collector of books helped. The last one I was reading its called EMPTY SPACE by PETER BROOK and now I m reading Old Times by Harold Pintor, yes I got a admit I have this amazing Directing Actors teacher here at my Film School that is making me think a lot of drama and theater and how interesting is to direct actors so maybe that’s why I m reading all these plays I don’t know I think I just love reading plays the best ones I read were by Sarah Kane they re amazing.

About me:

…it all started in the year of 1978: Sex Pistols Punk Rocker Sid Vicious was arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen was found in their New York hotel room. Atari 2600 is released in the UK the game cartridges were as chunky as the modern Game Boy. New Wave was the new punk. This was fashion with all the aggressiveness and menace of punk but with the style of the Teddy Boys of the 1950s. And in my apartment in the suburbs of Lisbon we had a BW TV and my father listened to records and tapes from the Pink Floyd and The Beatles and the first picture they took me was BW. I remember we only had 2 TV channels and the Portuguese Revolution was just 4 years ago. Also the first Rubik cubes were released and Pacman and Tetris will rule arcade games taking over Atari's Pong. We didn’t have Internet, Video, Mac computers or CD players but instead we had Super 8 Film Cameras, amazing 48K Atari’s and Spectrum graphics, colorful Record and Cassette Players, and lots really lots of books in my house filled with the most poetic words. In the middle of all of this grew my eager for screwing around with music and visuals with my very early insomnia's listening to my father's vintage radio, jamming with the Tuning button and recording tapes with a shitty microphone overlapping old records playing with the wrong pitch over the tuning noise and my silly Yamaha keyboard and kinky xylophone and other noisy toys. During the day my eyes were in sync with the powerful graphics of my spectrum computer creating Lego style shapes in my vintage Philips brown box Tv. Changing channels was already stimulating for me for the feedback visual effect itself like the wicked and drifting 30 minutes experience of loading a spectrum game tape as I would spent time trying to get on VHS Tape any interesting sample just to be able to spent sometime afterwards having in my own private living room visual installation playing from the VCR plugged into the TV while I was reading at night and listening radio late shows with more intimate and adult content. 15 years later it all develops into the Lisbon Spektrum Korporation a conceptual art project dedicated to the audiovisual manipulation and composition.

    Olha como o mundo vai
    Difícil entender.
    Não te parece?...
    Em cada esquina uma guerra
    Em cada olhar uma espada
    Desses guerreiros da fama
E há coisas que não sei dizer
    Que não me apetece dizer
    Não vale a pena
    O mundo querer
    O mundo é nosso
    Somos o mundo que queremos
    Difícil entender
    Não te parece?...

    :)

sounds like you have a lot of motivation! I wish I had had another day in Lisbon or I definitely would have dropped by. Just not enough time. I'm glad I came to Portugal when I did, bc I broke my hand now and it wouldn't have been much fun if I came now :p
    keep it up!
