Sam Beer is currently recording his debut EP Great Bar Colony. With one self-released EP behind him (Carrier Pigeon) Sam has gained an enviable reputation as a singer and musician with a unique and seemingly effortless playing style. As a songwriter his honest heartfelt creations have helped to establish him as one of the leading artists on the London folk/acoustic scene. He is a master of his trade and his songs appeal to a wide variety of musical tastes giving Sam the potential to be one of the most important singer/songwriters of his generation.
Sam Beer first settled in London when he came to study for a fine art degree with hopes of becoming an artist. The son of a diplomat and a jeweller he was born in London but the majority of his childhood was spent moving around.
Sam currently plays alongside Dan See on drums/percussion, Tom Mason on Double Bass and Matthew Starritt on bass.
The remainder of 2009 sees Sam recording and playing some small gigs in and around the capital. His Debut EP "Great Bar Colony" is set for release in easter 2009. The EP will be available through this myspace page as well as amazon and all good record shops. You will also be able to buy the album digitally through iTunes. The deXter Bentley Hello GoodBye Show returns to the airwaves on Resonance 104.4 FM this Saturday 5th September between noon and 1.30pm. Today's broadcast is in conjunction with PESTIVAL * With contributions from the Mosquito expert Dr. James Logan, an essay from the author Tim Burrows (on the subject of insects in rock and pop), plus live music from the London based alt/art duo Plug, who will debut new insect related material especially written for Hello GoodBye.
