'Folk-pop doesn't get much better than this song. (Waiting To Burn) A perfect mix of self-confessed vulnerability and confidence with instrumentation that makes you want to clap along.'
- Dom Alessio, Triple J
'A disarming songstress...'
- fasterlouder.com.au
'Earthy, grounded and honest...Humphreys holds similar visual qualities to an old antique book on the shelf of a second hand book store: she doesn't do much but her stillness encourages the watcher to pay attention to the words within. Luckily they're worth paying attention to.'
- Drum Media
'Humphreys plays it open and intimate.'
- Bernard Zuel, Sydney Morning Herald
'On her 2008 release 'Teapot Trees and Love Birds', Humphreys sounds like a beautiful concoction of Missy Higgins and Clare Bowditch tinged with soul, sensuous pop and folk.... Tonight, however, as the very engaged audience heard, Humphreys blew the comparisons out of the water, proving she is her own artist.
Her seamless performance included April, the poignant Just The Way We Were and the gorgeous saunter of Things That You Don't Say, all sung in fine form, her vocals executed to perfection.
Occasionally peering out from beneath her thick fringe, Humphreys delivered with confidence and passion....her songs bursting with originality, beauty, flair and intrigue through her wise words... She is being touted as the singer to watch in 2008 and I wouldn't disagree for a moment.'
- Monika Laskowski, dB magazine, Adelaide
'A down to earth, barefoot Sarah Humphreys played the same stage and has equal response from the crowd, humbly showing off an amazing vocal talent that guaranteed no vacant chairs. The thing that impressed me most about Sarah apart from her clear ability to write and sing a great tune, was that her Australian accent stood out.'

With the January release of her first record 'Teapot Trees and Lovebirds' Sarah Humphreys quickly became the songwriter to watch in 2008. Produced by Michael Carpenter at Love Hz Studios in Sydney, this is an album of 60’s inspired folk/pop songs that will make you cry and smile at exactly the same time. ‘Earthy, grounded and honest’ Drum Media
Her 2005 release, an EP by the name of 'Ghost On The Roof' recorded at Sarah's house in Wamberal on the NSW Central Coast received rave reviews for it's organic and honest delivery and radio airplay around the country, all of which exceeded her expectations. Since then she has traveled all over Australia, supporting major artists and also funding her own independent tours
The last few years has seen Sarah playing alongside and touring the country with the likes of Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, Sara Storer, Diesel, Kate Miller Heidke, Mick Hart & Mark Seymour. This, combined with Triple J, FBI (Sydney), RRR (Melbourne) and community radio support, her independent records are enjoying success around Australia.
In early 2009, Sarah signed a publishing deal with Mushroom Music and has already received extensive airplay in Australian and international television & movies.
A natural singer, her voice and songs come from a very honest place. Drawing inspiration from a broad range of influences including Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Frente, The Beach Boys and ELO, her songs are melodically rich and straight from the heart.
She has now embarked on a new musical adventure and has just finished co-producing her new EP 'Autumn' with Shane Nicholson on The Central Coast. It was recorded during the Autumn & Winter of 2009 and tells tales of love, loss and forgiveness. The EP will be released nationally in Oct/Nov 2009 through Sarah's own label, May Records & Green/MGM distribution with a tour planned for early 2010.

That is exciting Sarah! Wonderful songs, great delivery. Talking about delivery... have a great one!! Have you listened to Josh's songs (my brother who always shouts out "awesome" whenever your name is mentioned)? He is just starting out and has already been singled out for a couple of special things. He is in my Top Friends. I have been to L.A. and am working with a wonderful orchestrator there. My album is getting there slowly but surely.

Hi Sarah, Congratulations on the bubs! wow not long now! Any choices on names yet? I often think about you and karl and how you guys are going. I wonder if karls had any more kids? I've been going good, I'm on a break from work at the moment and just relaxing and doing stuff around the house then back to it around december. It's great to hear your doing well and congrats again on the bubs! xo Dan.

Hi sarah i've loved your music for ages!! ghost on the roof is one of my favourite songs and at one point was no.1 on my iPod most played just above Silverchair- "World upon your shoulders." Are you gonna play any gigs in Melbourne sometime soon?
Greetings from Wollongong. I have a regular radio programme here in the Gong (www.voxfm.org.au)and although it consists mostly of pop nostalgia i include at least 3 of my myspace friends song's each week. I have played 'Love Like You a couple of times already. the songs on my 'Wayne' profile are just for fun. Most took about 5 minutes from start to finish to compose and record. im not a singer but it was something i always wanted to do. Good luck with all the things happening in your world at the moment.
Someone is reading my blogs! Incredible... Can't wait to meet the new little Humphreys - how exciting for you both! Possibly could break the rules and enjoy a Coopers - sure - its possible - but maybe just a middy. Little beer for a little person. Makes sense. Good luck for your show on Friday! Cheers, Ren
